Here's the deal i took my 92 sedan deville touring edition to a mechanic ( i think he is honest) and he told me that the air ride is leaking? i know i hear the pump come on after i shut the car off, it usually runs for about 1-2 minutes more or less. my question is, when is it supposed to come on? is it after the car is shut off? i never got any codes for it, nor have i got a light on the dash that comes on. bear in mind i only paid $200.00 for it and it has 151k and is in great condition, no rust, paint is pretty much glossy etc. it just needed a new starter when i bought it from this lady( the car would not start) sorry to get off topic but i am wondering if my air ride is working properly? should it come on after or before the car is started? any info is appreciated.

The automatic leveling system will run periodically to keep the rear struts inflated. If it is running for long periods of time, or cycling more frequently than usual, then it might be leaking. Im guessing he spotted something that was broken or heard a hissing under the car? If so, try and figure out what exactly is leaking. Tubing is pretty easy to fix, Load leveling struts are not. Hope this helps!
thanks dave, i have some more questions, where is the tubing located? i'm guessing i can trace it back to the struts from the air pump? it only runs when the car is off, after being started or driven. how can i tell if the struts are at fault? i would like to fix this myself and save some cash, i am pretty handy and knowledgeable when it come to cars but caddy's are a whole other story, if u know what i mean! while i am here do you have any idea what would be some reasons whay i recieve" no distributor signal" does that mean it may be bad? it is sometimes hard to start but not recently. any info appreciated
