| View Full Version : Awesome new Cadillac Commercial... featuring CTS Coupe Jon 08-30-09, 09:33 PM TpyeUo50-Eg :worship: Great ad. thebigjimsho 08-30-09, 10:33 PM A V coupe would be nice... V-Eight 08-30-09, 11:05 PM Very good ad @ Jim, its only a matter of time orconn 08-30-09, 11:46 PM Yupper, that is a great ad! Glad to see it come from a company we know and love. Let's hope they keep the same agancy and the same corporate folks that approved it! Rodya234 08-31-09, 01:18 AM If it were me making this commercial, I would have had the order go SRX, Sport Wagon, Sedan, Coupe. Would have made it seem like the CTS was actually shedding different parts like a real rocket. Anyways, all the cars in this commercial are sweet. I actually spent some time with the 2010 SRX and CTS Sport Wagon yesterday, and they're both awesome. ( I feel like writing a review, but I don't know where to put it.) They definitely succeed in their task of re-defining what Cadillac means, and if the Coupe, XTS and ATS are similar, the line-up will be hard to beat. dirt_cheap_fleetwood 08-31-09, 03:02 AM I literally have goosebumps right now. Aron9000 08-31-09, 03:20 AM Damn that CTS coupe looks sexy. Kind of reminds me of the old knife edged 1967 Eldorado osu411yamaha 08-31-09, 06:44 AM That is my new dream car. Shouldnt they call it the CTC though? Just like STS originally meant Seville touring sedan, ETC mean Eldorado touring coupe. I mean CTS really was based off the Catera and meant Catera touring sedan. CTC sounds much more logical to me...... eldorado99 08-31-09, 06:57 AM Superb marketing by Cadillac. I like it. Jesda 08-31-09, 10:19 AM Reminds me of the Break Through ads. Sandy 08-31-09, 10:26 AM I agree! One of the coolest TV ads for a car in recent memory. Sadly, it will appeal to Caddy fans and the mass population will have no clue what the heck they are talking about. The car looks fantastic, too - but probably way too small for my likes. I am still waiting for a DTS Coupe. I know, never to happen. Where have all the BIG Coupes gone? DTS Coupe or a Town Car Coupe, Pleeezzzze !! billc83 08-31-09, 12:08 PM The CTS coupe is sweet, but this ad reminds me too mch of Lincoln's new "Lift Off" ads. IMHO, the best Cadillac ads of late were the CTS ads when it was redesigned in 2008. Jon 08-31-09, 01:22 PM That is my new dream car. Shouldnt they call it the CTC though? Just like STS originally meant Seville touring sedan, ETC mean Eldorado touring coupe. I mean CTS really was based off the Catera and meant Catera touring sedan. CTC sounds much more logical to me...... CTS stands for C-series touring sedan. dirt_cheap_fleetwood 08-31-09, 02:26 PM Where have all the BIG Coupes gone? DTS Coupe or a Town Car Coupe, Pleeezzzze !! They have good reason to be gone Sandy. The doors in my Mark VII are so large I have a hard time getting in and out when in a parking space, and I am a young kid. No older person is gonna buy a car that hard to get in and out of. Sandy 08-31-09, 04:30 PM I'm 62 ! (and) I WOULD LOVE YOUR '88 MARK VIII ! I had a Mark 6 and a Mark 8, by the way. Both had their troubles from time to time. Finally I gave them up, and bought my present Town Car. 6 & 1/2 years and not a single problem. I was once in a big crash (1975) and I was in a 6,000 pound big (No, huge) luxury car, and I got a cut elbow. The 17 Y.O. that hit me was running from the law, & blasted righ thru a stop sign, "T-Boning" me broadside. He was injured. I was just cut. My car did a 360, and ripped a fire plug outta the ground, creating awaterfall of sorts. So, 'ya, I like big, BIG luxury Coupes. I know, they are parked over there with the dynasoures. :D orconn 08-31-09, 04:43 PM I like the looks of coupes, but having struggled, over the years with the big doors on '60's Toronados, Eldorados and other assorted luxury coupes, I agree with those who have chosen to put convenience over looks. Although if a really great looking coupe came along I could be tempted to throw convenience to the wind! hueterm 08-31-09, 05:42 PM Big doors FTW -- ! eldorado99 08-31-09, 06:15 PM I like big doors and I cannot lie. Aron9000 09-01-09, 07:14 AM The doors on my old Camaro were a total bitch. They were fiberglass though, so they weren't all that heavy like an old Lincoln or Coupe Deville. Sandy: Bently, Merecedes, Maserati, Jaguar, BMW, and Ferrari still make big personal luxury coupes. Its just a very high end niche now days. I really wish there was more competition now days in that $70-90k price range. Right now all you have is the BMW 6 and Jaguar XK to fill that huge void between a BMW 3 series(which is actually a sports car IMO) and a $100k+ Bently. osu411yamaha 09-01-09, 07:31 AM I like the looks of coupes, but having struggled, over the years with the big doors on '60's Toronados, Eldorados and other assorted luxury coupes, I agree with those who have chosen to put convenience over looks. Although if a really great looking coupe came along I could be tempted to throw convenience to the wind! Big doors have their benefits. They scream "dont park close to me". Ends up saving you quite a few dings I imagine..... 93DevilleUSMC 09-01-09, 08:31 PM My god, what a brilliant ad! Where the hell was this level of PR savvy when Cadillac needed it? orconn 09-01-09, 09:05 PM My god, what a brilliant ad! Where the hell was this level of PR savvy when Cadillac needed it? Probably serving coffee in the cafeteria. ga_etc 09-02-09, 03:38 AM Probably serving coffee in the cafeteria. Probably Irish coffee. Someone had to be busy :alchi: not to see that they were lagging behind. Eld01 09-02-09, 08:25 AM Excellent ad ! 93DevilleUSMC 09-02-09, 04:43 PM Probably serving coffee in the cafeteria. Amazing what almost going out of business will do for a company. 93DevilleUSMC 09-03-09, 12:29 PM Cadillac has to build the CTS Coupe now to keep credibility. | |
