My DTS has 15,000 miles on it and naturally under warranty. Last week a problem arose when I took a 100 mile trip. Approximately 8 times the message "Service Air conditioning system" appeared and when it did so, warm air came out of the air conditioner. This happened intermitently and only for a few seconds each time. Made a appt. and went to the GM dealers service center. They informed me that all looked good wth the system, had plenty of coolant and there were no leaks. They put in a new sensor which they believed may have been the problem. Well on my way home it happened again and several times the next day. I will be bringing it back to the service center in a few days but was wondering if anyone has encountered such a problem or has any ideas what could be causing this.
Your opinions/ideas would be greatly appreciated.
One other item. My remote key chain broke in my pants pocket and the frame around the buttons is all cracked. The buttons (trunk release, open/lock door, remote start, horn) all work fine. Does anyone know if GM parts dept. can send it out to get a frame and keychain holder put on again?
Thanks

If a service message came on, then it should have a code stored in the BCM (Body Control Module) I would think. Could be slightly low on charge, the only way to know for sure is to recover and vacuum down system and weigh in the exact amount.
Maybe 2 speed fans aren't turning on properly causing to cycle off on high head pressure.

I have heard that the newer Caddy FOBs are very susceptible to breakage. Not sure if warr covers them. Talk with your local service mgr.

ac38, I had an issue with my keyfob and the dealer had no problem getting me a new one under warranty. However another board member, cant recall who it was, was refused warranty replacement. I think it depends who and how you ask. Bob

My dealer applied the warranty to the remote access FOB (#1) when the FOB case for my wife's 2008 DTS broke. They had to order it. While it was on order, she used the #2 FOB. When the new #1 FOB was received, to avoid reprogramming issues, I took the electronics out of the broken #1 FOB and put them in the new #1 case. Everything worked fine. The dealer returned the broken #1 FOB with working, but unprogrammed to my wife's car, electronics for credit. The FOB case cannot be ordered separately.
Ted...I now have a similar situation as you had with the remote frame breaking. I bought one on ebay and want to exchange the electronics from my old to the new. I'm not sure how to take the remote apart. Do I just pull out the silver metal part which has the key ring out or what else do I do.
Thanks

Many years ago (before these cars with all these warning message panels....) I had a similar situation occur with the aircon shutting down briefly. I had it on high in very humid weather and the condensor coils would freeze over--actually had "snow" blowing into the interior before the system shut down. Not sure that matches your scenario. Setting the system to recirculation solved the problem.
