: 1993 Fleetwood

I just took a 93 Fleetwood for a test drive. I have a chance to buy it for $1500. It's got 160k. Is there anything problem areas I should look for? The car, I mean Cadillac, is in great shape. It has a few minor scratches and a cracked dash. But it runs strong. Black top, black interior and black exterior. I have a 05 Deville DTS now, which I love and will probably never part with but I've always admired the last of the big Caddy's and for the price, how could I go wrong?

Harley, the 93 was the first year for the new body style, and the last for the old L05 (350) TBI engine and 4L60 trans combo. The 94-96 cars have more HP, but they are more expensive on parts. That L05 will still have another 40 000 miles of trouble free service if it has been maintained well. Have the car inspected closely for leaks, brakes, suspension, and steering. Use defects to bring the price lower. Test ALL electric functions. Windows, AC, seats, radio, antenna, etc etc etc.

I love the triple black cars! Post some pics for us...

$1500 is almost unheard of for a good condition Cadillac. I would go for it with the expectation of it having a catastrophic problem. If there is no problem then you have a descent Fleetwood, and you only paid $1500 for it. If there is an unforeseen problem, you can sell it for $4500 and make a profit (just keep it in your yard for a year).

Just get it inspected by a mechanic and see what the future may hold. For the price you cant beat it, they a great cars. I have a 93 Fleet and wouldn't think of parting with it. My vote is go for it...

OK, here she is! She runs like a champ, though it needs a tune up. Not a bad deal for $1500.00!!
Thanks for your input.

That is one awesome looking Fleetwood. Love that triple black combo. Chrome wheels! Someone added though, as from my readings chrome wheels weren't available in 1993. Great car and even better for the money.....

Whats up with crest decal on the front quarter panel? Was it a professional car or is that an almost unused factory option?

Nice looking car, but I could do without the tack on decal wreath and crest on the front fender. Carriage top is cool!
