View Full Version : Colors offered on '90-92 Broughams? Nickatina 08-25-09, 07:23 PM Does anyone know where I can find the names of the colors that were offered on the 1990-92 Broughams. I'm specifically intrested in the different shades of blue. How many different ones are there? Is it just the navy & powder blue color? What are the names of those?
(I know they had one in '91 called Sapphire black, which wasen't even black it was dark blue)
Thats why i'm a little confused, can anyone help me out? Stingroo 08-25-09, 07:29 PM Refer to this thread here:
http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/rwd-19xx-1984-deville-fleetwood-1985/177276-official-cadillac-color-names-paint-codes.html
It has colors for 90 and 92, but no 91.
However, based on this, your blue color would be either:
Light Sapphire Blue 22
Blue Sapphire Firemist 83
Sapphire Black 28
Glacier Blue 26
Diplomat Blue 29
If you have the paint code (the two digit number next to each of those colors) for your car though, you could get the exact color. Nickatina 08-25-09, 07:36 PM Awesome! Thanks alot Stingroo, I really appricate it! Stingroo 08-25-09, 07:38 PM No problem. Thank Bro-Ham for compiling the list though. :) I just forum searched because I remember the topic from last week. :D Bro-Ham 08-25-09, 07:41 PM The 1992 colors are listed and then pictured on page 2 in that thread. There are no pictures of the 1990 colors but someone else listed them. If you can find an original full line Cadillac brochure from 1991 I believe there was a color chart at the end of that catalog. I had the 1990 and 1991 Cad brochures up until a year ago when I sold, literally, a mount everest of car brochures I had collected from 1978-2008. The thread Sting made a link to has pictures of the actual color charts. The pictures were taken in fairly low light so if you need a brighter picture of the 1992 color chart just let me know and I will post it on that thread. Good luck! Dave :) dirt_cheap_fleetwood 08-25-09, 08:32 PM Glacier blue FTW. :) Aron9000 08-25-09, 08:46 PM Sapphire Black is a pretty good name, it can be confused for black during the night sometimes. I think mine is Diplomat Blue......must check the paint code #'s.
Amazing how different it can look with different light and light angle.

Yours is probably Sapphire Black. My_favorite_Brougham 08-25-09, 11:22 PM Here and I thought this was Diplomat Blue.

It is slightly darker than my blue, which looks like a mixture of blue and silver. From a distance my car almost looks like there is chrome under the paint, its a very cool effect. Here is another picture of that same car. However, keep in mind that my car has been repainted. Although it is the original color (you can see the original color in places), it is not the original paint.

And here is mine.

At the bottom of the sticker is a WA #### followed by a U#### followed by a 2 digit code. Those are the paint codes, and the 2 digit code is what is on Bro-Ham's paint chip books. Bro-Ham 08-26-09, 01:27 AM Here and I thought this was Diplomat Blue.

I love the glacier - - that would look nice next to my colonial yellow deVille in my tropical Florida carport! :) Hey, dirtcheapfleetwood......where d'ya get those side window visors? Looks really nice with those IMO.
Martin. dirt_cheap_fleetwood 08-29-09, 04:02 AM I found them on the internet. They were only like $52 shipped. Just search Cadillac Brougham Window Visor and they should come right up. The only gripe is that they are not true chrome, but stainless steel, so they don't shine as much as the actual chrome around the window. Thanks for the info. I found them straight away like you said.:cool2:
