I have a 2000 STS and the drivers and passengers door trim that runs along the bottom of the door is coming off. It appears that two of the plastic clips that attach the trim to the door are broken. Can these clips be obtained to reinstall to fix the issue or does the entire piece have to be replaced? It looks like the clips were made into the trim piece but that's why I'm turning to the experts out there, any advice or tips? Thanks in advance!

Do what most people do and use some sort of automotive adhesive or double sided tape. Works just fine.

I have tried the double sided tape and adhesives but due to the low surface area of contact points on the underside of the trim, the rain and road vibration tend to break the bond over time, I wasn't sure if there was a quicker and more permanent fix in lieu of replacing the entire piece. Is there a specific adhesive or brand of tape that is superior to the others or is it a re occurring repair situation? Thanks for the input!

This happened to me earlier this year when I got my door stuck in wet grass and tried pulling it back... the trim broke right off. I went to my dealership and bought 3 clips and it looks like brand new. Take the old, broken clip off your panel and take it to the dealer. Mine had them in stock, not sure if your local dealer does. It's worth a try.

Ryan, I appreciate the info, I'll see if I can get them off and take them down. Question, what is the Sterling edition of the 2K STS, I'm on my first Cadillac and a little unfamiliar with the different models and trim packages.

I've never heard of a so called "Sterling Edition". The color of my Seville is Sterling Silver Metallic, and that is the only reference to Sterling in my Seville literature. Option packages on the 2000 Seville's were few; my car came with the Wood Trim Package, Heated Seats and Convenience Package. The MSRP for my car in 2000 was $51,992 was means it was about in the middle of the spectrum of Seville pricing. I've seen a few '00 STS with stickers of $56k, but that included Navigation, Sunroof, and Massaging Seats.
