Looks like your typical clean Mark VII right? Nothing abnormal here, right?

Yep. Turbodiesel. It was a two year option on the LSC. 1984 and 1985. BMW Sourced. 2.4L SOHC I-6...makes 115hp and 155 lb/ft of torque, so power is nonexistant, but it gets 40 MPG (so says the owner...)

Very cool. I don't think MB put a turbo on their 240D, just the 300D.

You are correct...but this is a BMW diesel.

I totally forgot about those. Never saw one in person but I imagine hearing a diesel running from that car is a bit out of place.

I don't remember such a car, how did you spot it? Was there a good looking daughter attached to the Lincoln's owner?

It was at an account of mine in the city of Rochester MN. The population is about 102,000 and it's the only one left in town. Oh, it has 40k original miles too!!
