It is all of the ads and other junk loading from external sites that slow it down so much. I guess that's the price you gotta pay for free information.

Even before i joined a paying member the site was quick enough for me. I have been on way way slower sites trust me.

Yes, it could be slower. It is a free site, and a darn great one at that. If anyone's life if so busy that nano-seconds count, you need to simplify. Maybe it is faster for me because of being a supporter...I really don't know. But perhaps try it for a month to find out.

Yes, the site CAN be slow for non-supporting members. It's really a small price to pay for the amount of information you get here. And yes, there are thousands of people browsing this site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. "Cadillac" does not have a large aftermarket like other busy automotive forums out there. This place relies on network advertisements, supporting vendors and supporting members. Supporting members see less ads and as a result experience faster page loading. People asked for more - and we gave it to them: platinum supporters see ZERO network ads - dramatically speeding up page loading...

If we could have 50-60 or even 100 advertisers(we have 11) like some other automotive forums have, we'd have NO network ads at all.. But that's just not reality.. And we are CERTAINLY not hosted by a cheap company...

If it were that slow for everybody, we would see a big decrease in participation and activity. Things like this are usually due to ISP ups and downs and things like that.. I've been browsing along the past few days without any issues...

Me too. There are times when that goofy openx.net likes to put the hamper on things. But not lately.
And as I said before, what is between you and the cadillacforums server has a lot to do with it too.

If it were that slow for everybody, we would see a big decrease in participation and activity. Things like this are usually due to ISP ups and downs and things like that.. I've been browsing along the past few days without any issues...

That's strange because I received 6 e-mails from unhappy members that complained how slow this Forum was last week, as IU said many times I moderate several Forums, none were like this last week
