Although I know opinions will differ on the subject, I have found my car to be of very good overall quality, and made from high quality parts. In addition, keep in mind that I have less than 80k on my '01 Seville...

That having been said, I was under my car this past Saturday changing the oil (which, by the way, Walmart has a great deal on full sythetic penzoil right now). Much to my surprise, I noticed that BOTH of the end links on my front sway bar had recently broken off. Upon inspection, I found out that they had rusted to the point of failure underneath the rubber gromets, on the A-arm side of the link. I had previously noticed some rust on them, but the extent of the damage was not evident at the time.

To make a long story a little bit shorter, it took me about an hour and a half of cursing and straining to get the old links off... Then about 5 minutes to get the new ones on!

So... although it is not a "critical" part... Keep an eye on those end links!

Hey, I'm curious as to how you removed the old ones. I just did mine and was very surprised the GM bean counters actually allowed such a over-engineered design out the door. I used a saw-sall to remove mine and replaced them with a heavy-duty aftermarket poly setup. FWIW, instead of a nut on top, they used a cap, that's internally threaded about an inch down, and guaranteed to be siezed to the skinny headed bolt.

What brand aftermarket ones did you get? I need a set for my 95 SLS.

Thanks Ed

I don't remember the part number, but I ordered them from rockauto and they were the heavy-duty blue poly bushed end-links. Hope that helps.
