View Full Version : Best Place to See the NFL Caddyshack100 08-15-09, 06:35 PM Guys, my brother and I will be trying to see as Many NFL games live this year as possible, does anybody know of the best place to see a game, now we have been to Cleveland before BIN Model Took off with them, Philly, Cincy and of Course Buffalo. I know that the College game is very good but for this year NFL is all we will have time for. I know that some stadiums are fully booked, but with a little help from Ben Franklin that should not be a problem. Suggestions would be appreciated. Location would not matter, east or west or central. Aron9000 08-16-09, 02:11 AM Go to Green Bay, they have the craziest, most loyal and devoted fans in the NFL. They play the Vikings on Nov 1st at home. Still a little too early to get the -10F and snow blowing everywhere though. dirt_cheap_fleetwood 08-16-09, 12:58 PM ^ Yeah, if you want to have fun, go see a Green Bay game at home. When Green Bay comes down to play the Bears I swear there are as many GB fans as Bears fans in the stadium. Rodya234 08-16-09, 06:09 PM Green Bay v. Bears games are always awesome. Caddyshack100 08-16-09, 10:06 PM Green Bay is on our list, as is Chicago, Denver...Football should be seen outdoors, the Vikings are a probable it just depends on which way we swing (north or midwest) many thanks to you all for the advice GreenBay, it's unanimous.
I have only been to Pats games, got tickets for 0ct. 17th vs. the Titans. While the Pats games are fun and they have an outstanding team, it is an expensive day of fun. Expensive seats, expensive parking, 8 dollar beers inside the stadium, and very commercialized. However, the tailgating is fun if you have the right set up and everyone should see Tom Brady in action once in their life, it's a real treat.
Pats are going all the way this year! If you are looking for the best stadium to watch a game, I'd ask people that have been to the stadiums. I've only been to a few:
Pitt - Heinz. It's average. Not bad, not really good
SD - Qualcom (is that still the name?). It's an old hole. Not recommended. The fan experience sucks. Hot chix, but the fans are pu$$ies.
DC - FedEx. I swear that stadium is the Costco of NFL stadiums. It is huge and cheap. Reminds me of the cheapest possible industrial park square footage. Stium is so big, that the seats/view sucks. Old RFK was an AMAZING place to watch a game due to the energy.
Balt - M&T. I'm a Steelers fan. As much as it pains me to say it, this is the nicest place I've been to see a pro game. The stadium itself is awesome, there are no bad seats. It is spacious, and yet small enough to feel intimate. The fans there are great and very knowlegeable, and mostly polite, but very passionate about thier team. I wouldn't have an issue taking my 7 year old son there to see a Steelers game in our Steelers gear. They have 2 very nice Jumbo-trons as well.
My recommendation as one of your trips would be to go and see a Steelers - Ravens game at M&T. All 3 games last year where nail bitters (all won by the steelers of course ;) ).
I love the GB - Bears suggestion. Might be hard to get a ticket in GB, even with a lot of Benjamins. A few other suggestions for a great game: Giants vs any NFC East team in NY, KC vs. Raiders or Broncos at Arrowhead (supposed to be BY FAR the loudest outdoor stadium, plus AWESOME BBQ!), Pitt at Cleveland is always a wonderfull hatefest - grudge match (not sure if you'd want to get mixed up in that....it's kind of like going to any Eagles game)
Don't do any warm venue locations, or any domes. Football is supposed to be outdoors and cold.
Let us know what you decide.
-Chris Caddyshack100 08-17-09, 06:22 PM Thanks for the advice Chris, my brother is a huge Cleveland Browns fan and if he lived any closer he would have seasons tickets, in the dogpound of course, Baltimore is a great city, I have been to baseball games there and would like to see some football as well in their stadium, funny, nobody mentioned Dallas or Miami, I guess because its the warm venues, my bro is leaning towards, Greenbay with Chicago and of course finishing up in Cleveland. Again many thanks..until Toronto gets a team, (not the Bills, they need to stay were they are, Buffalo is a terrific Football town and does not deserve to lose their team, to Toronto or anybody) this is the only way to see some great teams in their 'natural habitat'
KJ Chicago vs Green Bay is always great. The colder the better. thebigjimsho 08-17-09, 09:45 PM Buffalo vs Miami in Buffalo! Miami is the antithesis of Buffalo so there is a natural hatred by the locals and the teams are almost always well-matched... | |
