Has anyone used the HID conversion headlights in place of their sealed beams? I was looking at them and am just curious as to how well they work. I drive my car pretty much daily and the sealed beams I've owned are never that bright (actually almost got a deer the other night). I don't want to change the look of the car though. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

Are your headlamps halogen bulbs. I have no problem with my sealed beam, halogen headlights. I do notice that one side is brighter than the other; one side has Sylvania and the other has GE halogen bulbs. The Sylvanias are both cracked (rock chips) and filled with water and they light up better than the GE bulbs. So maybe you can try upgrading the bulbs as opposed to reshaping the front end.

I converted the sealed beam lenses in my 68 SDV to HID and I can see much better, It wasnt too hard and doesnt look any different other than a crystal clear lens instead of the old foggy one.

I've had them for a couple years now, I love them. Don't go higher than 6500k color temperature. Mine are 6k color temp.

I also put the chrome half covers on them, I think it looks better with them....I think I purchased them off of JCWhitney website. But the glass headlights themselves can be purchase off of ebay, they're 4x6 projector/reflector headlights...which means that it's not a true "projector" headlight, but it looks like one.

I also have been using 6000K HIDs in my '96 FWB and quite satisfied with them .

I haven't even looked at the headlights in my new car, I'm just referring to the past 7 Cadillacs with sealed beams, I love my '90 brougham front end at night. Ever since I put it on my coupe I can see so much better and I've always been curious about the conversions. Anybody have any brand suggestions? Try to keep it affordable if possible. Definitely like the look of them, not too far from stock. Still classy.

WOW, all my bumpers, wheels, and trim is at the powder-coater now for satin black, and then the car will be painted to match, basically just like that one. that thing looks awesome
