I've got a deposit on this car (don't actually have it yet, waiting for insurance inspection). But I was wondering if anyone knows what color it is, as it needs a few touch-ups:

It's an '86 Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance. I know it isn't black, as I've seen it in person. I'd call it burgundy, but that doesn't seem to be one of the colors.

Edit:
On that subject, anyone know how to clean up this mirror?

Personally it looks like a GM34 Dark Mocha or a GM4767 Dark Beige, or maybe be GM52 Med Dark Neutral

When you get the car, look at the RPO label. There should be a WA- #### U code; that is the original paint code. Check the code on automotivetouchup.com (http://www.automotivetouchup.com/choosecolor/choosecolor.aspx?year=1986&make=Cadillac&model=All%20Models) to find the exact color name.

To clean the mirror; take 1 teaspoon of salt and one cup of white vinegar. Mix them together with enough flour to make a paste and spread in on the mirror. Let it sit for about an hour and then rinse it off with hot water. If there is still some spots, try scrubbing them off with the paste and a scouring pad.

In 1986 this burgundy color is #79 called "Bordeaux Red"

I have the original 1986 Cadillac exterior colors brochure with the actual color chips and color codes.

Thanks for the info, hopefully I can find a can of matching paint to fix the chips before they start to rust!

I think there once was a color-chart up here on the forum for almost any Cadillac built. I already desperately was lokking for it.
Is it gone now?

Pretty car that is :)

If anyone needs, I have pretty much all of the exterior color selections official Cadillac color charts starting in 1969 through 1980, and 1982 through the late 1980's and some of the early 1990's. The listing of colors that was posted previously showed color numbers but incorrect names for the actual Cadillac colors. If anyone needs this info feel free to ask and I'm very happy to help otherwise I posted everything I had one time but it apparently was lost in a black hole on this site. :) Dave

Correction to above. When I retired from the automobile business in 2007 I sold a massive 30 year car brochure collection, Chad (Iluvcaddys8792) saw it in all its glory and grabbed some neat stuff before I sold the collection to a car literature dealer. I saved my favorite brochures including some of the Cadillac color charts although in looking at what I have right now I have to correct what I said above. Here are the years of color selections brochures I still have: 1969, 1975, 1976, 1977 (exteriors and interiors), 1978, 1979, 1980 (exteriors and interiors), 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1992. The rest are history. If someone would tell me how to scan these and post them on this site I would be happy to do so for the times when folks want to actually see what the color looks like rather than just see a code and a fancy name. :) Dave

Beautiful. I used to admire a Brougham in this same scheme when I was a lad.

I too say lose the flaps.

Yeah, they don't really fit in too well, especially white ones. I think a nice set of black ones might look better than muck splashed on the sides though.

Soap and water, my friend.
