While trying to remove the heater core from my 1985 Fleetwood brougham, I accidentally disconnected a lever which is attached to the door which diverts hot air when open to the blower motor and closes in the air conditioning mode The lever goes through the fire wall and must connect to something on the other side of the firewall. Is ther an easy way of accessing the inside of the fire wall, short of taking the whole dash apart, inorder to reconnect this lever?

It is a rod that hooks to door and runs through the fire wall. It must connect to a motor of some type that opens and closes the door depending on the temperature setting. I have the automatic climate control. In the full open hot air from the heater core is pulled by the blower to the passenger compartment; in the full closed position hot air is cut off and airconditioned air is pulled in. I am trying to find an easy wy to access the inside end of this rod inorder to reconnect to whatever drives it. Any help is appreciated
