: Anyone know the cost of differential bearings?

Ive been noticing a weird noise in low gears and coasting lately, its getting worse. I had a friend drive it over the weekend who knows about the cars and he said it sounds like my front differential bearings are shot, and is something that If I don't do soon, will cost a ton of cash!.

Anyone have a clue what the dealers will wack me for?

$140US on ebay for front end bearing kit.

Dealer estimate?? Ouf that can't be cheap! I think the lowest I've seen for a front end rebuilt was member krazykeith, might want to search posts for info on where he had it done.

I paid $576 for the bearings and the job done/installed/fixed!

Find a local shop that just does 4x4 repair. Thats what I did, was called, 4xheaven.

Dropped the lade off, picked it up the second day afternoon.

What a difference once its fixed, no growl/howl/loose feeling.

Get it fixed before the whole unit goes.
