The front grille has been a issue with me since day one. Not the styling but the material, plastic. Has anyone installed an after market grille. If so your opinion and recomendations are appreciated.

I have an after market grille on my DTS, made of metal not plastic. There are many to chose from on the net. Take a look at my DTS on page 4, half way down.

Very easy to install.

DevilleDeeman, thanks for the response. Your ride is a beaut. How difficult is it keeping that color as clean as it looks in your pics. I like the darker colors but maintenance on them can be time consuming. Bob

Did you install the grille yourself.

Yes I did install the grille myself...super easy. Keeping my Cadi's clean is a passion of mine. The color on my DTS actually stays clean very well, compared to my '03 Deville which is a metallic pewter grey and requires more work.

My wife had an optional Vogue grill (all metal - chrome vertical bars) installed on both her 2004 and 2008 DTSs. She was/is very happy with both. The dealer installed them.

Been looking around and from what Ive seen I'll probaley go with a E&G grille.
I belive that is what DevilleDeeman has on his car.

I installed an E&G grill in my 08 as soon as I got it.As others have said these are quality SS grills. They are very well built and install easily. If you have adaptive cruise control be sure to get the right grill.

Just information purposes, my wife did not want a grill with the standard Cadillac emblem. She wanted the all-metal Vogue grill with the old style V-Cadillac emblem on it. She also has the adaptive cruise control, and this created a problem with the all-metal grill - the adaptive part of the cruise control did not work. The dealer solved the problem by moving the adaptive cruise control radar unit down below the grill to a point behind the all-plastic front bumper. It works fine.

Rapid Roger, thanks for the pic. I now have a good idea of what my car will look like. I was a bit concerned about changing out the grille without first seeing it on a white car.

I don't think so. I do believe there is a snap on chrome accessory that follows the lines on the lower grille. Ebay I think. I'm looking at chroming the bottom of the rocker panels under the door next and maybe the fender lines...one or the other, too much chrome can get tacky. My door pillars are the same color as the car, no chrome needed there.

aspin42, I found one at carid. com. Made by T-Rex. Stainless frame with wire mesh grille. It complements the grille nicely. Bob
