: 2010 Pricing and option changes- The Facts

Cadillac Tony

Howdy everyone- Tony here with your annual FACTUAL update on prices and option changes for the upcoming model year.

It looks like the base MSRP of the 2010 model CTS-V has risen to $60,720 (before DFC)- that is an increase of $2,145 over the starting MSRP of the 2009 models. As they say on TV though: "But wait- there's more!"

Eagle eyed readers may have noticed that $2,145 just happens to be the exact price of the optional pop-up Navigation system on the 2009 models. A quick check of the ordering guide reveals that the Navigation system has in fact been made standard for 2010 instead of optional, which doesn't surprise me since 90% of V buyers opt for the Navigation system.

Just to be clear for those still confused: There is no price increase on 2010 models (unless you were planning on buying one without the Nav and touchscreen).

The only other real news is the addition of the "Midnight Sapele" wood trim, which will carry a retail of $600. It replaces the faux carbon fiber pieces around the interior with a very dark brown/gray wood. It looks pretty good in person.

Well that's it for 2010 updates- they built a great car, so they don't have to change much for next year. I do have to mention (because I'm a salesman :D) that I still have two 2009 V's in-stock. One is a Crystal Red Auto with everything except Recaros, and the other is a Black Raven Auto loaded (with Recaros). Terrific pricing is available for everyone, and GMS or GSU discounts are happily accepted from qualifying buyers. Check them both out HERE. (http://www.plazacadillac.com/VehicleSearchResults?pageName=NewVehicleSearch&make=Cadillac&model=CTS-V&search=new&bodyType=&trim=CTS-V&priceSearch=0&minPrice=39000&maxPrice=72000&minMPG=19&maxMPG=26)

Feel free to PM or call me if you have any questions, and as always- thanks for looking.

Can you order both the 3AS wood trim and 53F suede wheel and shift knob together? Somewhere I read that the order system would not accept this.

Ripoff, maybe even teetering on Socialism, $2,145 for a useless option, never used it on my V1 as after the modding was done it was not realiable for a trip over 100 miles from home. This pizzes me off, I may have to get the new M5 with the V14 and triple turbos,,, I heard from a BMW insider that the 2011 was going to list around $49,631.

I have changed my name to Captain Sarcasm. I, too, will be looking at a V2 after year's end, business is picking up, I have no car payments, I 'may' upgrade the power adder on the V soon, but still in a quandry on where to park another car, as already have three total and I am never selling the V1.

BTW, if I win $20.00 from ya, I will buy you a pack and me a can, as with the new tax that is all we can get. Stay in touch my brudda!

2) '10 Demo, same as above, sitting in a Northern dealership covered with 12" of snow, GM just advised dealership that they have to cease operations

Sure, but wanting something and admitting to it are 2 different things. I don't think that any of the current owners want to see the value drop off of a cliff.
Now admitting to that, naw, I'm not going to do that.

I was hoping the piano black portion of the center console would be replaced with the nice dark wood trim. The piano black material scratches so easily and reflects sun right into my eyes while driving.

Glad to see that the 2010 models don't have a price increase like we kept hearing. The car is a bargain for what you get.

My post (actually the entire thread) simply disappeared. I don't recall writing anything in bad taste, nor inflammatory. I simply stated my dissatisfaction with Scott's attempt to add an additional $500 paint protection charge to the final sales price, once it was time to send money. These protection packages are widely viewed as thinly veiled attempts to pad the purchase price, and carry no value (IMO) for the buyer.

At the time, I was also a paying member. For any public forum to have long-term validity, it needs to allow opposing views to be expressed freely (and of course, in good taste). I know Scott has his fans, but I was not impressed with his interactions with me, nor with the apparent inaccuracy of his quoted 2010 price increase - especially when he has an obvious conflict of interest when trying to push the few remaining 2009 units out the door.

I guess we'll find out soon whether 2010 prices are increasing. I have a 2010 on order that is scheduled for production on August 11, I believe.

No offense, but could we share stories about other Dealerships somewhere else- like in another thread? You'd be amazed how easily people get confused reading these forums, and I don't want someone to misunderstand and think that you're talking about me tacking on paint protection charges (which I don't, btw...).

As far as the 2010 price increase, my whole purpose in making this thread was to share with everyone that the rumored increase was not true. I don't post a new thread every day, but when I do post I make sure it's honest, factual and helpful to the community.

Another reason for closing a thread may be an OP request. If the thread becomes a bash-fest and the OP has a VALID reason to close it, it will get closed. If the OP is just trying to cover his ass, then I will let the thread play itself out.....seems to be the reigning policy on the forum.

You were told correctly - I tried to order my 2010 with both and was denied. I'm getting wood and then putting the wheel and knob on later thru Parts (I think). Why would GM give up option money this way? Not everyone is gonna pop for the $$$$$$ that it's gonna cost thru Parts.

Maybe I'll be surprised and they added the midnight sapele to the steering wheel to match, but I doubt it.

Why would they do that? Does the wood trim package include wood on the steering wheel too like the base CTS has??

I kindda wanted the suede wheel too, but I want the wood package more, so if I have to choose between the two, the suede is gonna go.

It's supposed to be the standard leather wrapped CTS-V wheel.

I guess they think the suede doesn't look good with the wood. If that's not why, then I'm going to see what my options are to "re-skin" the steering wheel / shifter.

If the carbon fiber looked more realistic, I wouldn't have ordered the dark wood trim...

When will the pricing and options "officially" be released? Like when will the dealers have 2010 brochures, and ordering info, and the Cadillac web site show 2010 information? I gotta think it will be soon, as 2010 models are rolling off the line now and on their way to dealers now, right?

I'm almost ready to place my order, but I would feel more comfortable ordering something that I know will be for sure. Like I don't want to order my car based on 2009 option info, only to find out later after my car was built that there was a new option I would have liked, or a new color choice for the 2010, but I wasn't aware of when I ordered. I would rather wait and know all the facts first. Although I really have the itch to pull the trigger...

No, I got the same thing. 2009 only. Interestingly, I was able to select both the wood package and the suede steering wheel together when doing build your own on the cadillac website. But still no selection for manual transmission - automatic only listed.

GM needs to get their crap together with this stuff. I shouldn't have to call a dealer to find the manual transmission available, nor should I go to the dealer only to find the wood package isn't available with the suede steering wheel, when it says it is on their website. :thepan:

This kind of confusion is enough to make some buyers on the fence about this car go straight over to BMW or MB instead. :tisk:
