Hi! I have a '96 El Dorado (base model) that has been frequently dying on me. Had the alternator and battery replaced ~2 years ago. Over past 2 weeks, has required 3 jumps, eventhough I drove it every day. At idle information display indicates that there are ~13.5 battery volts, this drops to ~12.5 when I put the car in "D". Got a multimeter today, and discovered that with ignition off there is ~2+ amps of drain at baseline. After pulling all the front fuses and some of the rear fuses, discovered "COMFORT" fuse to be the culprit. Looked up description in owner's manual, and have some questions:
1) What is the "Remote Function Actuator?" Google searches and other posts on this website seem to indicate it has something to do with remote keyless entry system, is this correct?
2) What is the "Controlled Power Relay"? Again, searches seem to indicate that it has something to do with keeping radio on while car is off (in concert with "PZM"), am I right?
3) What is the "Air Control Module"? Is this for the A/C or for the rear air shocks or something else?
4) What is "PZM"?
5) I recently had the antenna motor replaced, and the window regulator replaced; could either of these have to do with this new drain problem?
Any help would be much appreciated -- even if it is pointing to good threads already answering these questions.
Thanks!
