They sure stand out on dark cars, not bad long as you don't do blacked out wheels and anything else blacked out. I put them on my caddy, long with the chromed handles. I'll post up pictures soon on it, been raining here. They look hot on silver and from a distance it doesn't overly stand out since silver and chrome are similar colors.

I put them on a 2005 Redline STS. I made a mistake buying the first set which were plastic, didn't even try to put them on. I bought another set which were Stainless Steel, big difference. Should have read the specs more closely. I like them too.

I have them on my STS and it is a huge improvement over the black. I love the look. I agree, don't put black wheels on the car. I don't like the look and it makes the car look trashy.

I think they look tacky, like they came from JC Whitney.

Sorry--you asked.

A lot of it depends on the color--in my case the silver was a bit too boring. Besides they look pretty good on a 2009.

Here's mine:

I've thought about these too. My feeling is the black is supposed to give the "4 door hardtop" look from the good-ol-days. I've just left mine black, but then I also have dark windows so from a distance it all just blends in.

IMHO, I wouldn't do it on any dark car, nor if windows are tinted. What's important is: "Do you like it?"

Have fun!

Sorry, don't like. I like the clean look of dark sills and dark windows with tint.

Agreed. Kinda like fender skirts and curb feelers. Extra junk. Now a classy set of chrome wheels would be a better way to spend stimulus bucks. :yup:

+1 on that (not that you asked, right ?) :-)

I'm still trying to find an inexpensive replacement/overlay for my black pillars - mine are getting scratched up pretty bad and when I clay and wax the car to the point it looks great - my scratched pillars look all the worse.

My local Cadillac dealer puts them on alot of the STS and CTS they sell. When I went up there last week to talk to the parts manager, I looked at some of the new cars and more than half of them had chrome pillars on them. I asked if they came like that and they said that they put them on there to make them look nicer.

Still undecided myself.

Fixing the OEM pillar may be a bitch--how about ordering the polished ones and juat painting them black--maybe easier :)

how thick or clunky (for lack of a better term) are the aftermarket chrome ones?

would it not look out of place? yeah it would be smooth but i would think it would stick out too much, then again i've never given them any attention

Here are the links to a few on Ebay. I know I have saw black ones somewhere else online besides Ebay, but I cant think of where right now.

The aftermarket ones (the stainless ones, plastic I dunno) have tapered enges so you can't really know they are stuck on. Up at my local caddy dealer they have a ton of new and used caddys with them on it. You could check one of those out on the lot. Im sure your local caddy dealer would have to have one with them.

Like I said here are links to ones on Ebay:

the chrome pillars work on this car because of the chrome strip sitting on top of the doors below the windows. It keeps the car from having a true blacked out appearance when you tint the windows. Although bottom line, car looks good either way!!!!

I like it - but it would look even better (more balanced) with chrome mirrors (seriously!) Imagine the first pic in the second set of pics you posted having chrome mirrors. I had a black '88 Ford Thunderbird that, in it's old age, got chrome donors off a Mercury Cougar. It looked fantastic and no one else had one like it. God I miss that car! Sold it after 13 good years...
