is it possible to program the key fob to unlock all doors and trunk with a single press of the unlock button? the current method of a single press for the driver and a second press for everyone else is just annoying.

thanks

Not that I've heard of.

I don't know why it works like that but if I had to guess I would think the reason it works that way is for safety. I don't think they want you to unlock the doors on the other side of the car in a dark parking lot for no reason. It's kind of like the panic button. How many times do you think you would use that in a true panic situation? Probably never but it's there for safety. I use it to find my car in a crowded lot sometimes. It is a little annoying sometimes but to press a button twice is no big deal.

I've had a lot of cars with the remote unlock and none of them ever opened all the doors with one push of the button. I'm sure some might but none I've owned.

Apparently somebody goofed and let something work the same way it does on other Cadillac products.

This is standard operating procedure for keyless remotes and unlocking doors. Don't know of ANY car that does NOT do it this way. As JohnZ pointed out, most people only want to unlock the driver's door first for safety reasons.

Mercedes, Porsche, Jeep and BMW to name a few will allow you to choose the method of remote unlocking. I just figured that this could be changed.

Seems like you can customize just about anything in the SRX EXCEPT for this. Sorry.

And FWIW, neither my BMW nor my Honda allows this to be customized either.

My Jeep Overland would not allow this to my knowledge. I would like that though as sometimes I press it once and try to open the rear hatch and am frustrated to find it's still locked. I just try to get in the habit of pressing it fast twice.
