Thanks codewize 07-31-09, 03:54 PM I never understood that. We were taught in school that the only thing that has the hardness required to scratch glass is a diamond. So how does auto glass always end up scratched? Anyway, I'll tell you what I do for cleaning but I'm not sure if it'll remove scratches. I clean the windows with 0000 steel wool and Windex. Then I rinse it off a little afterwords. That's an old show car trick to make your glass shine like never before. ONLY THE OUTSIDES BECAUSE THE INSIDES HAVE TINT. submariner409 07-31-09, 04:05 PM Take a look at the website for www.customchemicalpkg.com, go to the "products" or "shop" tab on the right, and look at their glass, headlight, clearcoat, and plastics polishing kits. Either online or at some of the larger parts stores, about $16 for a kit which includes the 2.5" drill pad attachment. Stupidly simple - even a caveman can do it.............:alchi: You grind enough silica sand into a buffer cloth or windshield wiper edge and you can do a great job of scratching windshield glass......... hcvone 08-01-09, 07:51 AM Scratches are hard to remove, never had much luck, there are some kits for that but never heard that they really fixed the problem. There are glass polishes for mild acid etching and mineral deposits like Zaino Z-12 and a product called Glass Polish that you can find in some hardware stores | |
