: STS Running lights and Fog lights in a STS-V Bumper?

07-28-09, 09:12 PM
Is there any way to make the standard STS fog lights and running lights/turn signals fit PROPERLY in the STS-V front bumper?

I dont think you can do that as the lights are separated by the bar in the middle on the STS and are not separated on the V....spacing becomes an issue.

Are you saying that an 08 HID STS headlight will not fit into a 07 STS V?
I thought they were the same headlight houing, the only different being
the Year and the Model (STS vs STS V) PLEASE ADVISE.

headlight vs foglight.....

Headlight housing is the same
Foglight housing, not so much.

If you look at a standard STS the turn/foglights are a 1 piece unit.

It would appear that just the bumper itself has the bar seperation. I would much rather use the standard turn/foglights to get a true foglight to use. Ideas?

Upon further examination the mounting is different. I have not had the bumper off yet. Can anyone who has had the bumper off shed some light on how the turn/foglight is mounted on our V's?

The fog lamp & running lights are ONE unit. While the bumper does separate them, once u pull the bumper off you will see that they're actually joined. So the STS-V just takes advantage of this and removes the divider.

The mounting is different though.

Yeah but I believe there are brackets to fix this

If you can figure this out please share. I never got a chance to check it out and would much rather have the standard STS projector foglight instead of ours.

If ur not using the old non-v bumper, you could cut it at the bottom where it connects to the fog light and make a bracket to mount to the V bumper. I did this when going from 05 bumper to a 2010 bumper. The fog light mounts on the bottom bumper differently, so I just did what I said and problem solved

I have a pair of sts fogs i wanted to put on my V too. The regular sts fogs r larger than the V fogs. the mounting for the regular sts fogs would intrude with the brake ducts on out Vs. If u guys figure something out let me know. I got tired and didnt want to start hacking my bumper,
