After 90,000 miles of 550-600hp driving, the 4L65-E finally gave up the ghost (at least 3rd gear, anyway) while getting onto the interstate last Friday.

I've got a little time to weigh my options, so does anyone have any experience with/opinions on a) rebuilding it with a kit, b) swapping for a 4L70 or 4L80, or c) rebuilding/replacing with another stock unit and trying my luck for another 50-90k miles?

If you do a 4L80 please keep detailed notes. Thats what I plan to do when mine goes.
