I have a 1999 Cadillac deville, When i first got the car it was perfect, but over time my rear began to get lower and lower. Now my car sit so low in the back its covering the top of the rear tires. I cant have anyone in the back seat because if I go over speed bumps it scraps the bottom so bad. Please anyone any suggestions !!!! :hmm::hmm::hmm:

Do a bunch of searching in here for the popular Level Control problems.

The rear uses air loaded shocks for level and height control. There is an air compressor and associated parts in the RR fenderwell inner liner. A sensor and control link are attached to the suspension arm. The fuse is in the rear (under seat) fuse/relay box.

If the fuse is blown, the compressor itself is faulty. You should hear it run for 4 seconds, about 6 - 8 seconds after every "engine - start". If the rear is sagged, either the compressor is locked up or there's a significant air leak in a shock boot or the air lines.

Pull the RR wheel and see if the control arm has popped off the studs on the sensor or suspension arm. Operate the sensor arm to see if the compressor will run.

If nothing works, eBay or www.rockauto.com or Luke in Parts at Lindsay Cadillac, over there >>>>>>

About 3 hours labor with the rear up on jackstands and the RR fender liner removed. Hand tools. $435.
