Bought a strut tower brace for my 06 3.6L. Installed today and went for a long winding drive. I noticed a substantial difference in the way the car handled.

bought on Ebay fron=m Big Daddy Caddy for $199

Good upgrade accessory. Good deal.

I wanted to get one of these but I have an early model 04 and the heat protector under the hood is not shaped for the brace. Has anyone does this with an 03-04?

We have an early 04, and I had to modify the stb to fit. I ground the welds off that hold bar to the perches. I flattened out the bar, and re-welded the bar to the perches.

Has anyone successfully changed the old hood liner for a newer model liner and installed the tower brace? I have search the tread and it seems like the 3.2L had issues with clearance even after the swap. Is there any 3.6L swaps that were successful?

The real issue is that the bottom metal of the hood will contact the STB and not let you close the hood. The hood on the newer models have an indentation for the STB and lets the hood close. I think one person cut the underside hood bracing to let the STB fit, there may have been custom ones made, and what I did posted above.

This one does, but good luck finding one. I had this on my CTS then swapped it to my V. They were made when CTS was first manufactured sold by Vouge and manufactured by Lund. They stopped manufacturing them after a short production run, I think Vouge may still have them listed on their site though.
I was fortunate to buy it off a pevious member here. You may also want to check out BMR they have a strut brace that may fit, however it is mucho denero.

Vouge, you may have to find an authourized vouge dealer.

So this Brace will fit without any modification? That looks sick too!

Ya the CTS I put on. It looks like your right about the holes I never noticed that before, I'm not sure if they changed design or if maybe the Lund an Vouge are two different bars.

Yes direct fit on the 3.2l engine, not sure but I'm guessing it would fit the 3.6l.
If it is infact made by Lund I don't think they make parts for the CTS anymore. Your best bet would be to try and get hold of Vouge, or luck out and find one used, but they are uber rare.

I'm not sure about the BMR and fitting the 3.2 and 3.6, and/or 3.2 hood clearance issues you may have to ask them. I know the V ls engines sit lower than the 3.2l by quite abit.

tommy do you have any pictures of the stb on the 3.2L?
what is the shape of it? i found a couple flat ones, if they line up on my towers i can take the brace into work and have it bent on the pipe bender hopefully. unless its completely flat across?
this one is adjustable length probably about 4 inches on each end.

Sorry I don't have any pics on the 3.2l. It does have a bow to it though heres' another angle on it.

On the 3.2l the bar just clears the top, if you have the updated PCV it just rubs it ever so slightly, it's a tight fit between the brace and the hood also.
