I just got this email from Hawk Performance this morning and wanted to let you guys know as I hate the huge amount of dust the stock pads emit.

Here it is:

"Your CTS-V takes a HB581Z.605 front and HB194Z.570 rear. This is our Performance Ceramic compound which has better than stock stopping and much lighter and less dust. They are more aggressive than stock so you must follow the burnishing procedure on the box to help ensure that they make the least amount of noise possible.

You should be able to pick them up through Tire Rack or Summit Racing. The HB518 part is new so you might need to call to have it added to their systems. Also pay attention to the end of the part number and get the .605 only for the front."

Thank You,

Todd over at Hawk said they had them in stock. Why would it take 3 weeks to get a set of pads drop shipped?

Me too! I hate this amount of brake dust!

Todd at Hawk said they are going to run these pads shortly to make sure there is enough stock for everyone to order. They may have run out of stock on them. Hang in there!

Thanks Todd at Hawk Performance!

I noticed the quote "they are more aggressive than stock..." I'm wondering how kind they will be to the rotors.
Whatever the case, less dust is a plus!

Then called back with a delay peeriod for the pads and was suspisous of the
mention of the . 605 on the end of the front pads... I tried to explain, but to no avail... Hawk need to school these guys

i don't notice much dust from the rears. is there some reason you have to change the front and rears as a set?

Does the G8 GXP use the same size pad? The wheels look similar. The first generation CTS-v shared it's front pads with Ford GT, Evo, and STi.

The Hawk manufacturing facilit here in Medina, Ohio, are a pretty good bunch. Just bring the backing plate and they'll brew something for you. :)

Todd at Hawk asked me to update my post as he had a typo in his original email to me. He wanted to make sure everyone knew it was HB581Z.605 and NOT HB518Z.605

Just make sure you order the correct part number when you decide to get a set of these new pads.

Thanks!

Anyone install these pads yet?

Looking for feedback regarding noise and performance.

I switched over my 08 CTS4 to ceramic fronts and dealt with a lot of noise. 1400 miles to date on the "V" and my brakes are church mouse quiet. I'd like to keep it that way minus the dust.

What do people expect fade characteristics to be like? I've heard carbon ceramic fade quite a bit under track type driving.
