I have a 1991 Fleetwood (fwd) and am wondering how much of a pain in the a$$ it is to put in new speakers. The only one that works is the right 6X9 in the back and the right 4x6 in the front door (which now makes all types of hissing and squealing sounds)..? I have an aftermarket cd player in there and am looking to replace both 4x6's and the 4in speakers in the dash, and disconnect the 6x9's in the back...Thanks...

Not too much of a pain. Do you have the Bose system or not? I did, so I had to rewire the speakers back to the deck, but it wasn't terribly difficult. Although I cannot speak for the dash as my '93 Sixty Special does not have those. Here is a few pages I setup to see the process I went though...

Good luck with your project!!

the only way that you can get rid of the hissing is replace the speakers and don't connect them to the built in amp on each speaker,i had the same problem with my 91 eldo, when the singer's voice got really high it hissed or crackled the reason that i believe is the type of ohm that the bose system produces, most cd player like pioneer and stuff produce a 2 or 4 ohm load where as the bose system i found out produce 1 ohm loads on the speaker and when the speaker's amp is recieving a signal from the aftermarket cd player it creates the wrong load and makes them hisses.
