Hello,

I purchased a 99 SLS 400 miles from where I live. My mother agreed to fly down and drive it back for me. The dealer replaced the alternator and battery just before I bought it. Afterwards, the instrument cluster began to flicker on and off. A used cluster was purchased and installed. The car was driven 200 miles without incident, until a technician noticed a piece of cable wrap hanging below the engine compartment. He pulled this off. Some time after this, my mom noticed that the tachometer, speedometer, and turn signals were not working.

Can someone tell me how to remove the instrument cluster? I believe that either a wire has been pulled loose, or perhaps this cluster is also defective.

If anyone has another idea, I would love to hear it.
