I can no longer access this website from my home computer. McAfee has a virus blocker that I'd have to override, which I'm not hot about doing. Started having problems this week. From my work computer, which has a ream of firewalls, there's no problem.
?????
No problems here, at work or home, aside from the slowness. I prefer to use the Mac which loads these ad-infested pages much faster than my home or work windows systems.

Sorry, can't help. Don't use McAfee. Use PC Tools Antivirus. No problems.

I have had no problem either.
I am using Norton Anti Virus. Corporate edition 9.

I am using McAfee Virus Scan and never have had a problem with this site. I do not use the firewall part of McAfee. It was uninstalled and installed ZoneAlarm. You might try deleting the cookies. wps

The message I get is something like when a test was done the chitika.something program--which I've seen quickly flash across the bottom of my screen when I close an item--tried to alter the computer settings. Again, worked fine until about a week ago. Hate to think I'd have to take precious time from work (ahem...) to talk you all y'all.....

I also use Zone Alarm Pro for my firewall and the computer is plugged into a six port switch / router with Network Address Translation.

Chitika is one of our ad networks. Unfortunately, Cadillac has a very small aftermarket (meaning very few vendors) making it difficult for us to support the cost of the site other than asking members for support or running network advertisements. I CAN say that Supporting Members (http://www.cadillacforums.com/subscribe.html) do not see network ads - including Chitika ads - so that would solve your problem. In any event, I'm not sure why this is happening to you.. You should be able to browse the site without this trouble whether you decide to support us or not...

The government has this site blocked. Don't know why though :hmm: but I have to wait til I get off to see what's going on in here. There is some other forum site that does load but not the same family you find here.

Well, as of his AM (7/18) it's back to normal for me. Hmmmmmm. I did get a McAfee update yesterday. Or maybe it's another Windows Vista gremlin....

I run a tower PC primitive dinosaur 60G with XP Pro SP3 and Norton and an older 80G laptop Toshiba Satellite with the same package. No problems. No gaming, movies, video whatever. Basic home office, Internet, e-mail, personal pics and files. Maybe Death by PowerPoint. For good visual/sound entertainment a computer is useless.
My new 17" Toshiba laptop with VISTA Home and Trend (Norton AV would not allow the computer to run at all) is an overstuffed useless piece of crap. Very bad mistake by not specifying the XP SP2 downgrade.
