im replacing my mat/coolent temp sensors on my 83 eldorado 4.1
the new replacments replace the plug from old circular style
to the newer 2 prong clip on style now the sensor wires are color coded
but the new pigtail/plugs arnt is there a polarity issue here or
am i going to like have to break out my multimeter :hmm:

Don't believe there is a polarity problem. AFAIK, this family of sensors produces its temp. variable resistance through the terminals, not to ground.

Just to be safe & sure, I would clear all codes from my diagnostics before changing the sensors.

Replace the sensors just with temporary connections (twisting the wires together; no soldering or crimping yet). After replacing, turn on the key but don't start the engine. Run diagnostics. Hopefully no codes.

If so then permanently wire in the sensor connectors & you should be good.

was kinda thinking that, it came with instructions with
no mention of polarity but i figured it wouldnt be a bad
