It was very hard registering. I can see this being a problem for other people wanting to join this forum. And why can't we have signatures?

You must have an ISP type email (not freemail) It kinda sucks, but it is what it is. It's that or the admins spend 10x the amount of time filtering out spammers.

As for sigs, you must be a supporting member to have a signature and custom avatar.

The site owners spend it upgrading this online community and helping it grow to accomodate it's growing membership. Becomming a site supporter isn't necessary, but when you support the site we all benefit.

Your comment about registering being a pain in the butt is true to some degree. But it's few and far between that I or any other moderator has to clean up a lot of spam. If they let any old freemail account sign up we'd have forums full of advertising posts and pm boxes full of garbage like "enlarge your manhood." No thanks to that noise. :)

Marketing (Google, Yahoo, MSN and all the rest), Software Licensing/Upgrades (vBulletin, PhotoPost, PhotoPost Classifieds, Blogs and various other priced-plugins, server software, etcetera), the server itself (colocation, hard drive space, backups, bandwidth, server management). When we're in the "green", money goes into an account to cover times when we're in the "red" (server attack, more traffic than usual, some other complicated issue that requires assistance, etcetera)...

It gets me all turned on when he says "colocation."
