Thanks for the responses. Not trying to be nosy, just trying to confirm my suspicions especially regarding the sunroof. Mine will be a solid roof configuration, even if I am forced to order it and pay more due to ordering one just to avoid the sunroof issue. I can live with squeaks, but not on a $70K car. Thanks again for the info.

7500 since purchased in february. no problems at all with the sun roof. recaro side supports dont stay in or " inflated" for lack of a better word( to be fixed when parts arrive been 4 weeks so far). slow speed clunk/jump on occasion when backing up with the wheels turned fully, the entire stereo/nav system froze once for a couple of hours but hasn't happened again. delivered with a crack in the plastic fuse box cover under the hood and the washer fluid cap had to be replaced.

Anybody ever consider the possibility that some of the issues could be traced to a particular timeframe? I know that on the C6ZO6 vettes it was found on the forum that some issues could be traced to a particular timeframe. Disappearing (roofs flying off) roofs & needle bearing issues are good examples that were traced to timeframes, but the C6ZO6 has been in production for several years now, and some of the issues did trace to a particular year. Just a thought. Identifying build dates might prove interesting for issues such as sun roofs & the clicking at slow speed issues. Again, just a thought.

No one has a solution for the sun roof?

If you had a choice, would you get it again or no?

No luck with dealer repairs and / or parts replacement?

As far as the sunroof the dealer adjusted the metal frames/rails of my UV roof and the noise is practically gone. Funny thing is I was given a 2009 AWD DI CTS as a loaner with the UV roof and it had the same "popping" noise.

try using silicone on the rubber seal

5000 miles and squeaky ass sunroof has been fixed for about 1000 miles.

Basically the dealer applied 3M adhesive insulation around the entire area that was making noise. This includes the trim ring around the sunroof, the headliner and B pillar areas (particularly bad on the passenger side). Now it is dead quiet, even when I press and jar those particular areas. The potential down side is that this fix has made my squeaky ass console more noticeable. Time for some more 3M.

Let me know if you're in the Central Texas area and having this problem. I will give you the name of my service manager at Covert (Austin).

No one's over 10k yet, eh? Mostly, I'm wondering how long the summer tires last.

I'm now at 3200 miles with only intermittent sunroof noise.

6800. minor sunroof crackels. Rear tires now right at the wear indicators.
Dealer centered front hood. Looks better now. Found a scratch on the steering wheel centerpiece after service. They're ordering an other one. Found the trunk lid is scratching my rear light fixture.

Wow, that was fast. Lots of tracking?

No, just lots of fun at the stop light. Specially with the tune, the car just flies. I guess going over 100 mph all the time in the Texas heat wears on the tires. (Last rear continentals on the porsche only got 6k miles).
Now that had one failed tranny, i'm a bit more gentle. The stock setup I have now is either still in breaking in mode, or I just forgot how docile it was. I got over 500 miles on new tranny, so I can be a bit more aggressive now. Can't wait to get my max perf tune back!

Hans.

Where exactly do you apply the silicone? I am starting to get some minor noises and would like to prevent it from getting worse if possible.

8500 miles, the only problem I can mention is the small gas tank. I have to stop for gas every other day, of course I really like the sound of the supercharger cranking up... that doesn't help with my mpg.

10,560 miles on odometer. Purchased car 4 months ago. No problems at all, no squeeks or rattles. Oh yeah, the marbles rattling sound from the supercharger has diminished quite a bit - must be broken in. My V2 is Diamond White with Titanium interior. Got many compliments on the color combo. Some say the best color for a Caddie and I agree. But then every one has their favorite color - so be it.

Over 9,700 miles and project 20,000 - 25,000 miles on the tires. I get all the performance that I need without burning rubber, but it does take some technique.

I have a customer with 17000 miles and he just replaced the tires.

He drives it everyday.

Graphite on the sunroof track and seal will fix the noises.

10,400 miles. no squeeks or rattles anywhere. tires look good still--I would say less than halfway to indicator. that includes several trips over 1000 miles and at least 20 runs down the dragstrip.

No other issues--knock on wood--car has been flawless so far.

oh--best time so far is 12.1@119-still bone stock (not for much longer--tune is up on the agenda)

Here's another myth buster on early models having issues.........

If you remember, I was lucky and received the first CTS-V.

I have 9000 miles on mine and not a hint of trouble ANYWHERE. My sunroof never made a squeak and is still silent today. My brake pads/rotors look like new and my tires are in great shape, however I did run Winter tires for about 3000 miles.

The car is tight today as day one and not a dash rattle or vibration anywhere. I do notice more people checking out the car now, than when I first took delivery last year.

A little OT, but thanks, Short-Throw, for your advice on winter tires. I've got a set of SottoZeros on order from TireRack (yes, they still have some in stock!), and will put them on my spare set of wheels in late fall.

I know some of you don't want to drive the car in winter....but this car was made for driving, and I intend to make FULL use of it--year-round. :D No garage queen here!

11,500 miles....maybe 100 drag strip runs....our V650 package....zero issues and no sunroof to squeak :)

Drive it about 110 miles a day. Only thing that would make it better is a 30 gallon tank!

You will not be sorry! I drove mine all winter with no issues. Winter allows you to enjoy the amenities while Summer allow you to enjoy the brute force!
