Hello Fellow Cadillac Owners:
I have a sick car that needs attention. I am wondering how to fix the pulley that the water pump tensioner belt is wrapped around. My Cadillac Deville has a 1998 North Star Engine. Anyone out there who can help Pretty Betty Deville she is sick. Respond ASAP!!!!!!!!

Remove the pulley shroud and lever the tensioner with the square hole in the arm - socket wrench. Remove the belt and unbolt the entire tensioner assembly. Replace the whole thing. Don't mess with the cam pulley - it's pressed on pretty tightly and requires a good puller and technique for replacement. Spin the w/p by hand. Quiet, with no clicks or grinding ? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.....

Look in www.rockauto.com for the assembly for your car - about $40 - $60. Might as well get the 3-rib belt, too. $5.
