I’ve been regularly reading this extremely useful forum for many months but have struggled getting registered. I want to thank Cadillac Tony down in Florida for helping me finally get registered today so I could post comments.

I’m in the market for a fully loaded Crystal Red (auto and Recaro). I ordered one 3 months ago, and my local dealer here in Omaha very recently received notice from GM that they were rescinding the sold order!! So I’ve spent the last week trying to find a V that has not been sitting on a dealer’s lot for multiple months being beaten by the weather, and accumulating “hard miles” in “test runs” by prospective buyers. (From what I’ve been told, I should be “suspicious” of any odometer reading over 15 to 20 miles or so.) I was especially worried about the auto transmission having its life-span greatly shortened by hard driving in its early life (before at least 500 or so “easy” miles are driven). I plan on having Jess (Wait4me) do some moderate tuning of my V at his shop in Indiana, so I don’t want to have to hassle with potential warranty claims due to parts that are already “compromised” when I receive the car.

Though Scott at Superior and Tony at Plaza were ultimately unable to locate a V with the specifications I’m seeking, I would like to publicly thank them for their hard work in trying to find the V I would like to buy. They are great car guys and very patient in listening to the endless chatter and questions that are part of my DNA as a professor. It really “sucks” that GM is eliminating Scott’s dealership.

I realize now I should not have been so focused on “going local.” Until I talked with Tony, I was unaware that an out-of-state dealer can ship a car from the factory directly to your local dealer at no extra charge (other than possibly a few hundred dollars to compensate for the pre-delivery “prep” that the local dealer might do). It would seem that the high-volume “national” V dealerships get higher priority and quicker delivery than the “local” dealers. Lesson learned.

they are closing up superior cadillac?? that sucks

i havent seen many V's in the area most likely if you are wanting a certain combo might have to buy a used one as I dont think there is too many sitting on the lots.

Good luck with the hunt and when you do find one bring it down to MAM on a fast friday session

HopeFully GM Will Listen and keep us open.. We do sell cars and trucks and make our Customers Happy.

I don't know if GM wants to make our customers happy.

Maybe they don't but all of my customers love the service I give them..

Hi Kyle,

Can you tell us what dealer you ultimately went with? I found this site by accident and can't wait to check out the cts-v's. I plan on ordering a 2010 but don't have much faith in my local dealers (based on my dad's lifetime of buying cadillacs from them and trying to get service). I just started my own research of my local NY/Long Island dealers to see which dealer and service dept. I trust. Good luck with your purchase and please keep us informed.

To Scott: I really hope you and your dealership make it. It seems like some of the US car companies try and kill a good thing. Hang on, WE need guys like you.

Capital Cadillac in Atlanta, GA has a red one just like mine except it has the automatic. Only option it lacks is the engine block heater, if that makes a difference where you live in Nebraska. A friend test drove it, but not hard. It has mostly been in the showroom. You can see the sticker on the Cadillac website.

Scott: Thanks for the heads up. I’ll call you Monday.

marktanner: I appreciate the information on the “history” of the car. I’ll give Capital a call on Monday.

dvandentop: Thanks for the invite. How many V2s do you typically see at MAM?

tdinut: I hope I can tell you where I buy my V before the end of this week! In the meantime, I have already mentioned Scott and Tony as V dealers with great reps. Given that you are on the east coast, you might also consider Lindsay Cadillac. They apparently have a fabulous service department, and they advertise being “mod friendly.”
