: SPOTTED: Wild Herd of Cadillacs

So... its Sunday morning and I went out for a leisurely drive in the Q. Apparently this is the time when all the rich folk around here drive their overpriced vehicles -- otherwise no one else is on the road. I saw a few Porsches, one Bentley, SL and S-class MBs, and three unrecognizable (to me) classic collector or kit cars that looked like they were from the 30s and 40s.

But one thing really caught my eye so I ran home to get my camera.

About a quarter mile from my house is the Bellerive Country Club, which regularly hosts major golf events. In a few days, the US Senior Open will be here. Tons and tons of rich old white people will be flooding my neighborhood yet again.
Of course I dont play there. Its $65,000 to acquire membership, and then $560 a month to maintain. For how terribly I play golf, its just not worth it. I'll stick to school playgrounds and public courses.

Directly across the country club in a wide open field, I saw a massive herd of Cadillacs. A mix of CTS, DTS, and Escalades. No STS and XLR.

I pulled into the nearby driveway and noticed it was an even LARGER herd than I saw from the street.

Cadillacs as far as the eye can see, sitting in the middle of my neighborhood.

A close up view.

A close up of the logos on the side of each Caddy. Looks like the Japanese flag. :)

I actually think its this logo.

Wes, youre a golf boy. Explain this. Is Cadillac sponsoring? Who drives around all of these new cars?

I would have taken more pictures but a small group of burly men in polo shirts started walking toward me, so I took off.

I am curious as to if you were one of them...IF you'd refer to yourself as one of "those rich old white folk?" ~ Would that be as acceptable ... as say "Poor old black folk" ?? :rolleyes2

Good question, Sandy. These things always seem to be politically incorrect, unless we're talking about white people, of course! :suspect:

They really ARE rich old white folk - a good 98% of them. Fly over to west St Louis, come and see for yourself. Perhaps I can do some sample-based polling. No, thats a waste of time and effort for political correctness.

Give me a break.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm broke young asian folk... with a dash of broke young eastern Indian! :rolleyes2
