I just purchased a 2002 STS ( build date 02/02) and the Rear End Bounces Bad. If Cornering on uneven Surfaces the rear end wants to Pass the front. When driving straight and level, the ride is Slightly more stabil with trac control Off, but cornering gets Scarry! Have Maintenance Manuals on the way but have not had much time to Diagnose other than determining that, not only does the Rear End Bounce when you push down on the Vehicle while stationary and running, but that the Passenger side is Worse than the Drivers. Act just like worn Out Shocks as with a Non Ride controlled Vehicle. No Onboard Warnings Either, will also run OBDII again. Any Suggestions on what to look for in the mean Time?.

And though it's 12:44am I looked at the Spare Tire Cover and there it is "F55". Now on to point "B"!

Your speed limiter is set for 130. Exactly how often do you intend to go faster ?? I bounce my limiter several times a month - rural roads are fun - but 130 in a 4,000 lb. sedan is fast enough.....AJxtcman can remove the limiter. So can Wester's Garage. $300, 4 day turnaround with your PCM.
Start the car, open the trunk. You and one or two friends sit on the trunk lip. Does the level compressor come on and return the rear to a just slightly raked position? Everybody hop off - do you hear air escaping in the RR wheelwell ? If not, jack up the car and pull the right rear wheel. Check to make sure the level control link is attached to the suspension arm. If that's OK, you're in the level ride compressor replacement business - inside the RR fenderwell liner. Not hard.

Oh,.. It's kinda a Guy Thing you know,.. dont want to have ANY Limits on my Ride!!! : ) I hear the compressor and it runs momenteraly and shuts off indicating theres no severe leaks or breaks and must be getting information as to pressure, but I do not hear it decompress. Did this a couple of times with the same result but an actual change in Rake is barely noticable. Have Fac Serv Manuals on the way and they may have a way to test the Compressor. I'll be learning the in's an out of this car,.. It's a Keeper! But you already Knew That. THANKS
