Back in 2003 when I owned a BMW Z3, we had a really cool thing called a Fix-it day. All the owners got together and helped each other with various projects and just got together to show off our rides. It was a fun day and I changed my brake fluid and power steering fluid that day. I had no idea what I was doing, buy the guys helped me out and we got it done.
So I was thinking this past weekend about the possibilities of hosting one of these events here maybe within the next few months. I'm in South Georgia (Fitzgerald, Ga) about 2.5 hours from Jacksonville, 4 hours from Atlanta.
My family owns a Cadillac dealership (JonSpinks Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, Pontiac & GMC) here and I am the Service Manager. So we can use our facilities, and I can even have a tech available with a TechII available to do basic checks and diagnostics. There would need to be a small registration fee, maybe $25-35 to pay the tech for his day off.
So if we were to do this, how many people would like to take part?
Maybe you're thinking about getting a new grille but don't want to tackle it by yourself? Bring it to XLR Fix-it day.
Want to show off your new Rims? Bring it to fix-it day.
Need help with your brakes? Bring it to fix-it day.
Check engine light on? .....You get the point.
So thoughts?? Who would be down for something like this? Lets see if we can spread the word and make this happen!!
