Anyone know where to find a die cast or build it yourself model STS?

Depends on the year. Anson makes a very nice die cast 1994 STS model. Very rare and hard to get. I've been looking for a 2005 and up model to no avail. If anyone knows of one, I would appreciate.

I bought this one about a year ago. It is identical to my 06 STS. I know they are still in business, but I do not know about availability. Good luck.

1978-2004 model: Seville
2005-2010 model: STS

The STS nameplate was actually first used on the 1989 model as the top of line Seville and continued being used through 2003 again as the top of the line model.

STS is just a sub model. To make it easier for you to understand, lets say I have a Ford Mustang GT. Make of the car is Ford. Model of the car is a Mustang. Sub Model is GT. Now if I go around telling people I have a Ford GT, that's not quite the same now is it ;-)

Hence, this is why I dislike people with Sevilles saying they own a "STS." Big difference friend.

I also have a 1992 Cadillac STS. Nowhere on this car does it say "Seville"

STS is just a sub model.

My car is a Cadillac - model is STS. It is not a derivative, but a wholey separate vehicle. It is not a custom XLR or Escalade. It is a STS.

You have a 1992 Seville STS. Many folks also have a Seville SLS.

Oh, I understand Cadillacs quite well. I've been driving them since before you were born. If you read my post, I stated that the nameplate "STS" was first used on the 89 model Seville as the flagship of the Seville line. Beginning with the 89 model, the name "Seville" no longer appeared anywhere on the STS model, it was simply called an "STS" which was designated on the lower right portion of the decklid. The entry level "Seville" nameplate still appeared in the same place. This continued until the 1994 model year when the nameplate "Seville" no longer appeared on any Cadillac. They were simply known & referred to as the "STS" or the "SLS." It was this way through 2003. In 2004, there was not an "STS" model available at all. Beginning with 2005, the entire Seville line ceased to exist and is now known only as an "STS."

I understand your "sub model" logic but the fact is that the name "STS" stuck early on and anyone who drove an STS (or SLS for that matter) referred to it as such. The name "Seville" was rarely used after the introduction of the Northstar system in 1993. The fact that people driving a Ford product refer to their vehicle differently is quite irrelevant.

As for your dislike of people referring to the fact that they own an "STS" instead of a "Seville," you must get angry quite often as anyone who owns as "STS" refers to it as such.

I've got the Anson model of the '98-'03 Seville STS. It's well built, though the paint has a few areas that weren't well applied. Otherwise, very good.

Oh as for STS vs. Seville, the car is technically called a Seville. The car doesn't have Seville anywhere other than the owners manual. I've always called my car a Seville, unless i'm too lazy to type Seville STS, then I just put STS. I have never heard anyone call the car a Seville though... it's either STS or SLS.

A rose by any other name, eh?

The point is, that model is the last generation. Anyone find a current model in die cast or injection molded plastic?

Look on your title. It says Seville up untill 2005. Therefore, you have a Seville, no matter what you call it. Like I said in my previous post, when I had a Mustang GT, I diddn't refer to it as a Ford GT.

My title does not say STS or Seville. It just says Cadillac and in the model, Sedan.

The sticker says 2006 STS V8 LUXURY SPORTS SEDAN.

The dealer work order/receipts say 2006 Seville STS.

My father in law has an 01 DTS. He does not say "Deville DTS" . I seriously doubt that upsets anybody with an 06+ DTS.

Obviously not!

It does rub against the grain when dealer service tells me my Seville is ready. But as long as it's fixed I'm OK. :yup:

Oddly enough, I get being irked about that. Service should know what your car is. It is not a Seville. However, a Seville STS is still an STS, so simply calling it an STS to shorten it up is not worthy of being bothered about. :yup:

IMHO, my wife's '98 Seville STS looked better inside & out and was much roomier. On the other hand, I would have never bought it (FWD).:2thumbs:
