Ignore the date of June 30th 2009, obviously they meant 2008. :P

Cool! The link would have been handy in the first post. Everyone is a skeptic these days

IF that link is for real, whoever wrote the article is an expert at murdering the King's English......nay, they are illiterate. Even a spell checker program can't do that poorly.

Not that it's worth the time, but you could go online to find the newspaper itself.........

My question is how the H-E double hockey sticks was that car able to get that stuck on the train so high up and stay there?? :hmm:

It is real. The DTS held up well to a train of all things.

^ LOL

Oh, that makes sense, as it would have been hit while it was on the truck. Just going across it wouldn't have been tossed up like that. I must say, it held up pretty well too.

The trunk popped open? Totally unacceptable.

When I'm cruising across live train tracks in my luxury car, I want to know that my golf clubs are secure in the event of a collision with a train. *crosses DTS off shopping list*

Trunk saved itself. It's about the only usable panel left on that car.

Note the Law Enforcement Officer standing there and he appears to be holding up his cell phone for a pic of the car on the nose of the train. ;)

I considered that but judging by the forces exerted on the rest of the car I'd have to imagine that door is tweaked somewhere. It does have a perfectly usable skin though.

Doubtful... Car will likely be sold to a salvage operation who will happily pluck that motor right out of there and sell it.

I don't know if the drive train would survive being tossed around like that.

Looks like the train didn't sustain much damage.

That pic was used on CarDomain a few weeks ago for the caption contest. Still makes me sad to look at it.
