I got the dreaded call from the wife Wed. "I'm on M-14 and I have a flat...DON'T WORRY! Your CTS looks OK." I drove there more than a little angry she took my car, rather than hers. But shortly before getting "on scene", I calmed. It's not like she did it on purpose, right? :rolleyes2

Annnyway. I looked like a pro one-man NASCAR pit crew as I yanked my floorjack from her "rescue mini-van" and my 4 way wrench. Had it changed in less than 3 minutes. OK, maybe not a pro pit crew.....Tire shreded on the inside, but luckily no rim damage.

Off to the Firestone dealer and...GULP!....$150 later I have a new tire mounted and balanced. OUCH! Man I've gotten spoiled ordering tires/rims of the internet. Forgot how much they overcharge at the local tire joints!

OK, I've vented. Sorry to bore you with my story.

One the plus side, she felt guilty and bought me beer! :) What a great wife!

Just curious...what kind of tires were on your CTS, and how many miles did they have on them?

Firestone Firehawk LH 235/50VR17. And they had less than 5K miles! :rant2:

I had them on my two Corvettes..a 94 and a 99. Never needed to try their run flat ability out, but it was comforting to know it was there. I keep a can of Fix O Flat in my trunk, just in case.
