: Does the V have an engine block heater?

I was poking around under the hood of my "new" (used 2005) V today, and I found a three-prong grounded male 120v electrical plug covered with a snap-on rubber cap. It's under the fender edge near the hood opening, right by the air filter. It looks like an engine block heater, but it has a factory look to it. Is this something all V's have?

Yep, special order option, mine has one.

Better question: why?

It must have been done by the dealer before they sold it -- the car has never been out in the winter. I hardly think she took it out of the garage!

If vehicle was ordered with the engine block heater it should be option code K05 on your list of option codes.
That's the sticker on the underside of the cover in the trunk wheel well.

That's great to know -- thanks for the info!!

Some caddy dealerships don't even know what it is. I had my car in for service one day. When they were "finished" they rolled the cable into a ball and threw it over the engine cover. While driving home, it would have made a mess if it got tangled in the accessories belt. Hacks.

Yipes! Morons! It always worries me when I am more careful and/or more skilled than the professionals I'm paying to work on my stuff....
