Car's not bad either.:D OKC_CTSV 05-20-09, 09:13 PM I thought about doing the Lingenfelter kit as well, do you know what you're running now as far as 1/4 mile and 0-60mph times?? wait4me 05-20-09, 09:38 PM Nice car, I saw it in person. Very nice grass also! Damn i wish my yard looked like that. Well besides the dead squirrel or something you photochopped out in the second picture. :) Nice car, I saw it in person. Haha you have Eyes like a Hawk. Just noticed that after you pointed it out. Looks like a hand pointing or something.
Solid looking car. chopmeat 05-21-09, 12:25 AM Ha! Lol...Yeah, my photoshopping skills suck.
As far as my time goes, I have no idea! lol. Florian 05-21-09, 01:27 AM you paid too much...
F Razorecko 05-21-09, 11:43 AM So are these the same springs as the ones on the reg. cts ?? Hows the ride ? on tour / on sport ?? I'm seriously considering these but the only other person musclebf hasn't given anymore info on them. Also i'd highly suggest removing the cts emblem on the rear hatch and transplating the "litenfilger" emblem to that side. It will clean things up alot. Not too mention when people look at your ride from the back the first thing they'll notice is the "V" and not "cts" whisler151 05-21-09, 03:24 PM you paid too much...

Hmmm...way to be positive. Great example the moderators are setting.

I agree with Razor. Your car looks amazing, but that would clean up the rear a bit.
Beautiful car! congratulations! that's a great car. i agree with the suggestions about the emblems. the grass is most impressive though!! chopmeat 05-21-09, 05:24 PM The eibach's are for the regular CTS and they are awesome. I can put it in sport mode and it feels great. The handling feels better.
And of course, I absolutely love the look. Tony407 05-21-09, 06:00 PM The eibach's are for the regular CTS and they are awesome. I can put it in sport mode and it feels great. The handling feels better.

Very cool! Looks great. Confirming that this is Eibach part # 38136.140. I got this from Tirerack by choosing the regular 3.6L 2009 CTS. It says it lowers by .8" in the front and 1" in the back. Does this seem like the kit to you? I also see that Tirerack has H&R springs as well, with 1.4" in the front and 1.3" in the back.
I'd love to hear more impressions about the Lingenfelter kit as well. $2K doesn't seem that much for amount of HP you're getting from it!!

Indeed, please share your impressions, chopmeat! Sounds like a reasonably priced set of mods for the power you get out of it. Is that 630 whp or at the crank? Razorecko 05-21-09, 07:27 PM My big question is that with the springs when you have it in sport mode does it help the sway on turns ?? - I know the sport setting on the stock springs stiffens up the travel a bit but it doesnt do much for the sway of the vehicle on corners & turns. It feels like a boat when i turn still :D Razorecko 05-21-09, 07:44 PM oh and we need more pics !! like further back and profile shots chopmeat 05-21-09, 07:59 PM Yes Tony 38136.140 is the Eibach springs.
I am so in LOVE with this car, the springs, and the package.
To me the price is a steal!
I would do it all over again in a second.
LOVE IT! chopmeat 05-21-09, 08:00 PM And the pedals from the recaro package look awesome! Razorecko 05-21-09, 08:31 PM On the eibach site it said....
Vehicle equipped with self-leveling rear dampers must replace with non self leveling dampers to properly
Did you have to do anything different on the V install or just straight swap Very, very cool. I'm interested in lowering it like that myself.
Question though--is the suspension tight enough such that if you put 4 adults in the car, it WON'T rub on the rear tires? Hell, how about 5 adults? chopmeat 05-22-09, 10:14 AM I can't really answer these questions.
Life is short and I'm not worried about anything I've done to the car!
I'm so happy with it! Tony407 05-22-09, 12:16 PM We're happy that you're happy!!
But we also rely on others doing mods to their cars first and reporting back here so we can decide if we can be happy too!!! :D
Tony chopmeat 05-22-09, 07:00 PM Lol, I see! I am a guinea pig of sorts! lol
I drove it alot today and I am crazy about it.

Well, I don't know about that...but if you're gonna post about your mods you'd better be well prepared to talk about them!!:histeric:
Glad you like it!!
Tony chopmeat 05-23-09, 08:52 PM I will definitely let you guys know how everything is.
So far, it's fantastic!
I will post new pics soon also. I also am interested in the Eibach performance. Anything that will stop the car from rolling back and forth. And a lower center of gravity will definitely help handling. How did you decide on the Eibach? How did you know it would work? And did you install it yourself or have somebody do it?
Hans. chopmeat 05-26-09, 08:05 PM I got the part number from another member.
Lingenfelter installed it along with the pedals! OKC_CTSV 05-26-09, 09:04 PM How long did lingenfelter have your car to install everything? Were they good to work with? chopmeat 05-26-09, 09:32 PM Just around 2 weeks.
Everything worked out fine. musclesbmf 05-27-09, 03:16 PM I installed the springs myself, and as chopmeat had stated, the ride is great.
I think I was the first to do this, and I didn't know if it would work, but springs are springs. Our suspension is basically the same as a regular CTS except for the magnetic struts. My concerns were more centered on how the springs were rated, but they are stiffer than stock for sure.
Someone asked about load-leveling shocks. We don't have those, so that is not a concern. The biggest thing to note is that you install the front springs correctly. It makes a huge difference which way the top end of the spring is pointing. Eibach even notes this in their instructions. Too bad I didn't pay attention the first time because I basically had to install the fronts twice.
As for the drop that someone asked about, our cars are heavier, so the drop is greater than the .8 and 1 inch advertised. And the H&R are on back order for what seems forever because I wanted those as they are better quality (IMO) than the Eibach.
I'm not sure what other info people are looking for. I've answered all questions that I know of in my original post. There is no ill affect to the MRC as I've stated many times.
Mark Tuan_CTSV 05-27-09, 03:38 PM I ordered my sets of Eibach springs, I'll chime in once I get it installed. 1-2-N-V 05-27-09, 05:22 PM Chopmeat where you located in NY? I am in Dutchess county, Fishkill. I want to lower my car too. i gotta check out those Eibachs. Muscles, Who is H&R? Why are they better? Looks awesome Chop.
So basically LPE quotes 630 BHP for a tune, boost and an air box. How do they get the boost. Got Pulley?:stirpot:
i am Psyched to do 700 HP. That is like my dream. 630 is cool too:cool2:.
Jess don't make me go to LPE now. I like to stick with one Guru.
Kinda like my women. I like to keep em' for a while. 1-2-N-V 05-27-09, 05:38 PM Wow not too bad for springs. $237 bucks at tire rack. Those H&Rs maybe too low??? (found my own answer Muscles) 1.4 front and 1.3 rear. Nearly and inch and a half! The car already has that jacked up look so .8 front and 1. in in the rear really levels it out nicely by the looks of Chops car. And they are stiff enough? These are meant for the CTS with 18 tires, i guess they are ok to you Chop? Razorecko 05-27-09, 06:27 PM Yea the H&R's will be waaaaaaaaaaay too much of a drop. With the weight of the V you'll probally be looking at almost a 2in drop f&r...that will def give you either rubbing issues or ride quality issues Tony407 05-28-09, 03:14 AM Great thread everyone. Full of useful info!!
Tony 1-2-N-V 05-28-09, 12:58 PM Chop where in NY you from man? I need some more info on those springs before i dive in. chopmeat 06-14-09, 09:07 PM Here's another pic of it lowered!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/knihc_photo/11.jpg Razorecko 07-26-09, 01:50 PM Hey chopmeat i noticed on the lingenfelter website your V was dyno'd but there was no #'s...what #'s did you get from that dyno run ?? chopmeat 07-26-09, 04:55 PM I just took it to The Vette Doctors and got headers and a re-tune...
I just blew a turbo porsche away on the highway, so it definitely boosted the horsepower again!!!!!!!!!!
I way over the Lingenfelter quote now. whisler151 07-26-09, 05:22 PM I just took it to The Vette Doctors and got headers and a re-tune...

What are the rear wheel horse power numbers? Very nice. Really interested in the difference in the ride.
What is the measured difference in height?
Very strong appearance improvement...and I bet it really aids in sublimation (chemistry definition!)... V-Eight 07-26-09, 06:52 PM So are these the same springs as the ones on the reg. cts ?? I agree. Razorecko 07-26-09, 07:09 PM lol chopmeat....we need dyno #'s otherwise i don't believe it chopmeat 07-26-09, 10:41 PM I like to keep my dyno private.
And I don't care who believes it! chopmeat 07-27-09, 12:07 AM For those who asked....
Has anyone ever been to a tuner?
If you go to Lingenfelter's website or the Vette Doctor's or Hennessy you will see what they do.
Why is there so much doubt, what's the big deal here? 1BlinkGone 07-27-09, 04:36 AM That grass looks perfect. Car's not bad either.:D
I was going to point out his excellent choice of brick... :D Gary Wells 07-27-09, 06:32 AM Chopmeat:
That is such a beautiful car with just the perfect corrected stance. I'm green with envy, especially after I read what all has been done in the way of power enhancements. freezeg35 07-28-09, 11:42 AM Lingenfelter 630hp/ 630 torque, Eibach Lowered, Tinted windows, race pedals from recaro package....SICK....I'm sick MAN.

Looks like the right exhaust is a bit too far to the left? Could be the angle of the pic.
Great drop with the springs, how does this affect the magnetic ride, or does it. cavillac 07-29-09, 03:56 AM does that car even fit in the garage? If so do you have to push it in the driveway to open the door to get in. I like to keep my dyno private.
