383 stroker 11:1 comp Ls6 w/patriot stage 2.5 heads, Patrick G "torker" cam, Fast 90, 42# injectors, ported Ls2 tbody, B&B long tubes and full 3" exhaust, will get you in at just under 500 at the wheels, add a 150hp TNT shot that will get you 618rwhp/687rwtq on the bottle.

I have seen a LS6 with Trick Flow heads, Long tubes, Vengance Vindicator Cam, Ported Polished, Fast 90, plus other stuff top 500hp but it was EXPENSIVE work and it wasnt in a V, it was in a C5 Z06.

stock bottom end LS6 should easy be able to get 500HP NA. it wont be cheap but good things in life never are LOL Anything more than that HP wise is getting close to the edge IMO..

seen tons of exhaust, heads, cam IE "bolt ons" camaros and TAs hit 480-500 HP on stock bottom end LS1.

Its all about finding the right combo and a good tune

Cam and bolt ons [ no kooks just TPIS headers shitty 2.5'' exhaust] i made 428rwhp 396tq in my V. i can imagine a nasty set of heads ported fast 90/90 will make close to 500rwhp N/A

my fathers class 1 off road car has 655hp and 670ftlb. its a na ls-1.

it was built by lingenfelter.

stock block, it popped a rod out the side of it, welded the hole up and since hasnt had a single problem, doesnt stop making power until 8k rpm. its a beast.

428rhwp -- impressive
bolt on's which ones?
The TPiS headers you have what size are they 1 3/4 or 1 7/8?
...TPis better than Kooks?

Do it right and spend the money on a serious, high-performance motor. For, say, $15k, you can make a reliable MONSTER (& no, I wouldn't even CONSIDER dropping an LS7 into my If I was going to do it again, that's EXACTLY the route I would go.

Seriously, I'd chuckle at my '09V with the motor Andy at A&A was going to biuld for me, which would slide nice and easy into my '05 with no issues whatsoever.

Oh, and it would pass CA smog as well... :cool2:

Gas mileage? Okay, let's not go there... :duck:

Custom grind from patrick G 231/235 i forget the lift figures 112lsa cam was about 400 shipped/ i did the install spent another 200-300 on new seals/gaskets/fluids another 300 on tune figure spending 1000-1500 to do a cam install without the price of labor possibly
but its worth it lol i don't go somewhere without everyone snapping necks power comes in strong @ 4500-7k

Not everyone has money falling out of there ass, i spent total maybe 2500-3k and im making 430rwhp when i slap the kit back on making close to 600rwhp and a shit ton of tq i would like to see how many LSAs i run into that give me a hard time my motor is rock solid reliable 70K+ miles. has been bottle fed before the cam too.

PS i get 26MPG at 75mph

TPIS is not better then kooks but i paid 400 shipped used :) 1 3/4 dented too lol
i have CAI/ ported TB [homemade] / full exhaust not the best.../ ls7 FW CLUTCH Kit that probably freed up some HP and Patriot Valve train and 25% UD pulley. [Stock heads and intake manifold]
231/235 617/620 112 +4 LSA i would say its a medium size cam it keeps good drive ability still and i made more HP then my friends MS4 powered z06 with kook longtubes and ETC from 3k rpm - 6600. 6600+ he made like 6 more hp and i made more TQ the entire time lol.

945Liter,
Thank you so much for sharing your data.

I have already emailed my mechanic for a quote for cam and header install using your cam spec's......

Q: how the street drivablity of your V with this cam?

Do you have any video of the car idling? is it smooth or loping?

430 or better rwhp LS6 V getts my attention...

Do you open track the car?

thanks again in advance...

Driveability is good obviously the tuner plays a big role, i don't have a good idle video really heres a friends z06 same cam but he has a fairly loud exhaust setup you can hear the chop and as you can see it proves to make #s again.
I drive extremely spirited around turns if that matters for open track :) lol

Once i can come up with some money again i can possibly fix my slave issue or whatever is stopping me from shifting and ill take a video but im broke after having to replace the diff :(

I missed this point the 1st time, you have 3.91 gears...
did you notice a BIG difference vs 3.73 stock gears?

cost?

worth it?

Heads are the ticket... i think lingenfelter has a quote somewhere...

A good cam with okay heads will make okay power...
Great heads with an okay cam will make great power...

I have a N/A LS6 making 515 flywheel / 438rwhp. But if I had to do it again i would do a different cam. Torque is what you want on a street car...especially a heavy one. Don't get me wrong my car is a screamer from 3000 up. It would be nice to have it from 1500 though.
mods:
k&n fipk $240
fast 90 $830
gm ls2 90mm tb ported to 95mm $80.00
kooks 1/7/8" w/catless midpipes. $1070
stock pipes with no resonator and a magnaflow $250
Comp springs/pushrods/HPE s-cam (238/240)/Dyno Tune $1450

Yep thats why i stayed away from anything like an MS3- MS4 works great in a vette but something as heavy as this car you will most likely lose to a smaller cam car with power under the curve.

3.73 to 3.91 isn't a big change but its there i did not do it by choice i blew my DIFF and i installed an SRX rear but i could not get to the casing to close with the CTSV LSD :( a few changes on it.

If you punched out the block and sleeved it you could use the LS7 heads:lildevil: but thats a lot of work.

Stock we use the same style as the LS1 guys but a better casting (as do the LS2 guys but with heavy valves). Trick flow makes an awesome set of cathedral port heads that fit the stock LS1/6 bore. Meaning they'll bolt right on and you can still use the fast 90/92 or your stock LS6 intake. But why would you do that?
