Purchased the Mad Dog DL (Double Layer) Burner as posted in the previous thread. This is actually a rebadged NEC model with high ratings.
Purchased a DVD+R DL disc. Burnt the DVD, took about 44 minutes total.
Came in today, put it into a '05 CTS and drove around town a little.
Works great. Found nothing wrong with it. :D

how much was the dual layer disc??
That's good news! How's the Nav swap coming along? If for some reason you decide to give up on it, I'll be happy to take the unit off your hands :)

They only had a 10 pack, 1 DL disc, 8 +R discs, and 1 +-RW or something like that, for $29.99.

Ron,
What software did you use to burn a copy? I currently have Nero 6.0 and it has not worked on two verbatim (dvd+r dl) disk I used.
Ron,
I have the same problem as above.
Using Nero 6 and Verbatim DL discs.
Burned two discs and can read them in the PC DVD but not in the Nav unit.
The first one I burned would display the map on the Nav unit but got an error when I tried to verify the version #. The second DVD I burned was not recognized at all. The copies were from two different version map DVDs.
Any special settings to use with Nero 6? Can you post the process?
Thank you
