Gentlemen, Im looking pretty seriously at picking up a Thunder Racing Camshaft.

So far:

Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft
"Reverse Split" - 230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA 2200-6800 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. Automatic cars require computer tuning and it is recommend for optimum results on manual transmission cars . Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended. http://www.thunderracing.com/images/dynos/thunder230_224a.jpg
99 LS1 TransAM with stock heads, long tubes, ls6 intake manifold, ported throttle body, pulley and tune. Before graph is same modifications. Based on head flow does this mean this cam is good for a rear wheel of 430/410 on our cars? That would be amazing.

I would be changing this cam to: 230/224 .600 .590 112LSA

Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft
"Reverse Split" - 227/224 .569/.563 114 LSA (This cam will check in the 226 range on the intake lobe.) 2200-6800 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. Automatic cars require computer tuning and it is recommend for optimum results on manual transmission cars. Better piston/valve clearance than 230/224 cam for applications using heavily milled heads and/or larger than stock valves. Slightly smoother idle than 230/224 cam. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended.

I dont have dyno specs on this one.

I would be changing this cam to: 228/222 .600 .595 113LSA

Thoughts on reverse splits? Anyone know of a good "baby cam" for a daily driven LS6? Does anyone actually HAVE one of these cams? Bonus points for youtube videos with exhaust note...

just as with a tune, you can go "can" or dyno (custom) with cams you can get off the shelf generic cams, or custom cams specd to your liking

get patrickG on ls1tech to custom spec a cam for your car.. thats what all the smart ones are doing these days...youll make more power, safely, and know that the cam is spec'd exactly for your car. Doesnt really cost anything more....he maybe charges 35 bucks to spec it. I promise youll be better off.

Absolutely the best way to go. For $25.00 PatrickG will give you the cam specs as well as recommendations for other components such as pushrod length. He will also hook you up with a source that will check the cam after it is gound to make sure you get what you wanted.
