ok this is a 1995 deville and i was wondering what are symptoms of a bad battery ground cable on its way out. would it effect the cruise control sometimes not working same with the turn signal and also the daytime running lights coming on when they want. but the main problem is when i go somewhere turn the car off and get back in everything seems normal but no starting just a click from under the hood.

I am wondering if my problem is related to the battery ground as well.
I am not sure if i should replace the cable or the whole unit including the connectors. My problem occurs more often after the car sits for 2 or 3 days. I attempt to start the engine and all i get is click. when i attempt to jumpt it i have to "fondle" the cables on the connectors until i hear a DING from inside the car. Then it takes another 10 minutes for it to charge.
<--small history-->
I took the car to car electrician. He blamed it on the electronic ride control. Said that it was draining battery. He disabled it. Conicidentally I have gone through 2 sets of hub bearings. Not sure if it is related to to the disabling of the Ride control caused it or not. But the point is that it was disabled because of the battery draining.
Let me know what you guys think.

Both of youse guys- try a thorough cleaning of both battery cable connections first. Yeah- I know, side post batteries aren't supposed to need cleaning. They do corrode- just at a much slower rate. Also- have the batteries been tested?

No the battery has not been tested. Especially since this is the 2nd battery in 9 months. I am going to safely assume its not the battery. Is that a bad assumption?
Before reading your post i went to the dealer to get a new ground cable. Apparently it comes as 1 whole you unit. I have to replace both positive & negative including harness. Nice bill of $250 just for parts.
Will try to clean connectors and post.

I have to be honest, Legacy- it's not a safe assumption, but not an unreasonable one. If you have a multimeter, check it for voltage- it should be about 12.6v. Regardless of how you decide to handle this, once the car is started you should see about 14.2-14.4 or so volts. Over 14.6 and you are overcharging- which will damage a battery.

That was one of the problems with my car.......i have an 87 seville....all I had to do was buy a new battery.....at one point we thought we needed an alternator but the problem was the battery...for one, the battery itself was too weak for the car...on top of that...it had a bad cell and was completely dead so even charging it wouldn't keep it charged...sometimes it would crank sometimes it wouldn't , then all of a sudden u got nothing.....so you should get the battery tested and if that's not the case try getting the alternator checked and then the battery cables
