My questions are simple:

1.) price
2.) durability- how well does it hold up?

Chrome plating is a hard shot to call - you get what you pay for. $200 for 4 wheels ??? Junk - last maybe next winter, that's it. $800 +++ = good stuff. Laying a 2 or 3 layer impervious metal sandwich over aluminum is tricky and black magic - it all begins with the polish and ends with the chrome.....you pay for the labor experience...........

I got mine done awhile ago by a local chrome shop. I feel like hole in the wall places do the best work. This is the final product after about a year. Still look brand new. Not the best picture but it's all I have available at the moment

I'm sorry I don't, too long ago...I do remember they were based in california...only issue I had was one of the rims they sent be were bent...they sent me another rim no questions asked...I did the exchange program, but you can buy the outright too.

jwall don't do it man. I totally agree with subamariner. I cannot deny that Nikon and JD03Cobra's cars look friggin sweet. Mine looked friggin sweet as well for the 1st year...

If you live in an area that uses salt... don't do it
If your car isn't a fair weather driver....don't do it

I'll post some pics of mine...if I get around to taking pics.. I just pulled them off and pule Mille's on it..

The science behind bonding/plating chromium (bronze and nickel under chrome) over aluminum just isn't there yet... getting a good bond on the aluminum just isn't "good"

In my opinion nothing looks better than chromed stockers... but they just don't last.

I used OEMRIMS Inc on ebay. Exchanged my wheels for theirs. Its been a year now they still look great, sorry no pics. The car does not see winter if it did I would not have gotten Chrome wheels.

I bought mine with chromed rims and I thought chrome rims on a CTS-V look like pure shit. So I powdercoated mine Wet black not flat black like most people do and it made a 300% diffrence!!!
Before I bought it!!

I don't buy what these guys are saying. If you take care of your rims, they last. Keep them clean, and waxed.

c4ss.... Ultimately it comes down to the shop doing the plating. I cleaned mine twice a week.... every week, waxed them, coated them with grease.... you can only do so much to protect chrome... the quality of chrome makes a huge difference, I'd take a OEM chrome wheel before an aftermarket wheel, and a aftermarket wheel over a chrome plating sidejob.... but quality counts, because it's very hard to bond to aluminum alloy.

I wish I still had my chrome stockers... nothing looked better. I curse the stars I didn't know 6speed before he stripped his and powercoated them.... we could have had a trade that benefited both parties :sob:

Purchased through the dealership. About 1.5 years old now and doing fine.
The left rear wheel just took a blow from a guy that hit me on Apr 30th and it did surprising "little" damage to the wheel IMO.

I have a set of chrome on my Black care and i think look classy but i rather get a set of silver or graphite ones. If any one has the graphites for the 05 let me know.

I almost made a thread to see if anyone wants to trade for chrome :stirpot: Where do you live?

Well I like to hope the chrome shop I used did a good plating job, but I also am constantly cleaning them, waxing them, and polishing them with stuff. I even daily drive my V and they look brand new. Maybe I was just lucky, but I definitely didn't cheap out when I got them chromed either. You get what you pay for too. I think the 4 coats of Meguiars tech wax I have on them doesn't hurt either
