| View Full Version : popping in the front diff. 03whiteext 07-12-04, 09:41 PM I have 03 ext with just over 13,500 miles on it and it has a popping in the front end when I turn,I take it to the dealer today and they pull out the front axle drain plug and it is full of metal shavings,they say they will have to pull the frontend out and split the cases to see what the probem is. has anyone else have this problem? I'll keep you posted on what they tell me, they said they should know by tomorrow. hcvone 07-13-04, 09:19 AM I have not heard about any front gear problems in any of the GM truck boards, let us know what they find 03whiteext 07-13-04, 06:30 PM after opening it up a bearing was the source of the shavings, they replaced all the bearings and seals and it is still making the same noise. they are not sure what it is now. well at least they got a me rental while it is in the shop, it looks like its going to be a while.:confused: MEJIA 07-14-04, 12:28 AM I have not heard about any front gear problems in any of the GM truck boards, let us know what they find I will be thankful if you post what the dealer tells you about the problem of your truck. Thanks, Mejia 03whiteext 07-14-04, 06:58 PM they are now saying it is the rubber bushings in the shock tower's, they are on order i'll let you know if it solves the problem. 03whiteext 07-22-04, 07:08 PM after 8 visits and thousands of dollars in warranty work, the popping while turning delima has been solved with a .5 cent, 1/8th. inch washer between the body and front left body mount. caddypimpin 07-22-04, 07:27 PM is it whenever you turn the wheel all the way......... my 03 makes a clicking noise when ever i turn the wheel alot............its a loud click in either direction... i cannot figure it out......... its a clicking/ poping noise that can be felt.............. what should i do?? does this sound like the same problem??? i am worried that my dealer will not tell me about the shaving if i have the same problem........... they are very shady........... fRiSkOcAdDy 07-22-04, 09:06 PM I would like to know this also... 03whiteext 07-23-04, 12:28 AM that sounds like the same problem i had.you could feel it right at your feet, have them call tech.support and mention to them about the washer on the front body mount and they should talk them through it,that is what my dealer did. | |
