I have a question, someone said that the timing belt lasts the life of the car. But, is there anyway to tell if the timing belt was replaced? If you have to rip the engine apart just to check, then it would make sense to replace it while its open.

no timing belt on 4.9 , its a pushrod and uses a chain to drive the cam , lasts life of the engine unless your "lacseville" then bad things happen to it .
