I totally dig your truck and was thinking about putting in the Kenwood DDX-7015 source unit myself. It was kind of hard to see it in your pictures, but do you have a closeup of the unit as installed? Did you have to custom fabricate a dash surround for it? Any other issues on installation? Thanks!

Killer unit. You'll hate the look of foldouts after getting one of these. Install isn’t bad. If you don’t have much experience with custom installs this will be something to let a local sound shop do. I had to make custom mounting brackets and cut some of the dash guts out. Fit and alignment is a pain but not to bad for me. Lots of cool features, touchscreen, kind of looks like the factory nav unit on steroids.

Great job on that center front TV Screen! How much is it worth and how much should someone expect to pay for installation? can you add this to the stock Bose or do you need to replace all?

i got to get me one of those :) that's exactly what i want. and the price isn't too bad either. just have to figure out how to get the steering wheel and rear controls and cd changer to work with it.
The install looks pretty clean, but I'm wondering if you needed to keep the trim ring around the source unit. Is it removable or part of the chassis? I've done a small amount of custom fab work on previous cars (1988 Cougar, 1995 T-Bird) and feel I can do a decent job with it. What kind of 'guts' did you remove from the dash? Did you have to jigsaw out stock mounting brackets, or was there other stuff that was removed? I'm planning on using this as a replacement to the stock non-NAV unit, mated to the stock system via soundgate GM wire harness and remote adapters.

If you want to keep bose, onstar, chimes, and wheel controls you'll need PAC interfaces. Like the OS2 / OS2BOSE / CM1, I bypassed my bose system, I have a 4channel JL amp pushing the bose as hi/mid, much louder, but if you want to go that route be prepared to do some extinsive rewiring.

Has onboard dvd. Motorized tilt.
Feanwt: Yea I dont like the big bezel, it only looks weird because I've got the extra wood. In the proses of making a more flush looking one.
