Cadillac prices STS below its German rivals
When it arrives in dealerships this fall, Cadillac's new rear-wheel-drive STS luxury sedan will be priced below its leading competitors.
General Motors considers those to be the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes Benz E-Class.
The V6 STS will be powered by a 255-hp, 3.6-litre DOHC engine, with variable valve timing (VVT).
The starter price is $58,750. Prices for the V8 version, with a 320-hp variant of Cadillac's acclaimed Northstar VVT, will start at $68,725.
Standard features on both models include a five-speed automatic transmission, StabiliTrak stability control system, panic brake assist, leather seating, Bose CD sound system and remote access with keyless start.
All-wheel drive will be available on the V8 model.
Other available options will include heated and ventilated seats, magnetic ride control, adaptive cruise control and a Bose surround-sound audio system with 15 speakers.
